Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

On Tuesday I had a bit of extra time and decided to finally get on the Brooklyn bridge.
Big mistake. Just a huge endless tourist crowd, so I had to run on the bike lane, which was not
very safe. The views from the bridge were great however, and the air was refreshing.
On Saturday I did the "Wildcat Ridge Romp 50k" race in New Jersey. It was raining heavily
the entire time. But the rain did not bother me at all, if anything it was just pleasantly cooling.
The race was 100% on trails, with maybe a third of the distance more or less runnable,
a third definitely not runnable (rock scramble) and the rest was a mix. I'm trying to improve
my trail running skills, but without much luck so far. 26th out of 37 finishers
