    Dave59 (5.62 morning miles)
Tramps (38 pleasant afternoon bike miles)
RCG (3.55 running miles + 1.65 walking miles + 2.9 more walking miles with King L & Ralph)

    Mike (snow-shoveling cross-training + 10 miles with windage)
Twocat (13 good pre-smoking [brisket] miles)
Mariposai (10 biking miles + 4 running miles between work)
    Evanflein (5.4 miles with a little ice, and some breaks + a 27:10 5K)

So very nice to see Jlynne posting again. Sorry about the issues you’ve got - I wish I could help.

    Tough run, KSA!

Sounds like a lot of good Easter/Passover plans in the offing - enjoy!

Happy birthday to Cindy, Dave. 60 ain’t nothin…

RCG, Blaine will figure it out and do fine.

Holly, enjoy the place, the company, and the Stag’s Leap Cab.

Looks like some good eating today, especially at the Twocat and Mariposai households!

I think it’s safe to say that a normal day at work for Steve is not like a normal day at work for most of the rest of the world…  Looks like Mr. Bunny was a hit!

Yesterday, we visited friends in Bristol, RI: She just finished chemo/radiation for cancer (and hopefully she'll just need periodic checks from here forward), and he has Parkinson’s that he is managing, in part, with boxing (true enough). Great friends, and an inspiring couple.

We saw a great show on PBS last night about the group from the first-ever women’s Outward Bound program (in 1965). It showed, interviewed, and talked about them then, and in a recent group reunion. A great and a well-told tale.

I went 9.2 RW miles this morning in 43° temps, 18 mph winds, and under overcast skies, so there was no sunrise to be seen for all the folks at the beaches for their respective sunrise services. My last mile was my fastest (which is not to suggest that it was fast), and it was hard 'cause I was a bit fatigued by then, but it's always nice to finish with a bit of a spurt.

Have a greta Sunday, no foolin...

    Jay

Without ice cream there would be darkness and chaos.

Excellent recap, Jay.  Your friends sound inspiring and like they are facing their health issues well.

Gloomy Easter morning here, but I beat the rain for 3.3 miles.  Our Easter Vigil service last night was 1:45, so a little shorter but still...long.  I have to admit to taking a few peeks at the Villanova score.  I'm back in first place in both of my brackets.  Sort of hated to see Loyola's wonderful run come to an end.  I actually did my first year of law school at Loyola.

Hey all. Been away for a bit. Too much work and travel. Sounds like a busy place as always.

        Nice streak RKSA!

I raced a marathon yesterday for the first time since knee surgery. Missed my BQ by 1:26 seconds but gave it all I had. Very sore today but thankful I can still give it a whirl. Now its off to Nashville to see family and kiddo has Vandy visits tomorrow.

        Have a great Easter everyone

16 miles for me today at a 10:17 pace. Ran a gorgeous stone dust trail on Assateague National Park.

          tailwinds!

          Trails are hard!

Yay, Day 3 of the streak!!  Which will be over tomorrow, as I have to be in CT early Monday morning.    I find I value sleep much more than streaking.  Also pretty sure that three days is about as far as I've ever made it.  So I made it to within two orders of magnitude of KSA's streak--3 days vs 3 years.  I applaud your dedication (or stubbornness, whichever you appreciate more    )

So, for a change of pace--4 miles on a very breezy morning.  Somehow it seemed like I hit headwinds most of the way.

Guess I demonstrated my geographic lack of knowledge--hope you have as much fun in the DR as you would have had in Mexico, Holly.

Need a fast half for late fall.  Then I need to actually train for it.

Thanks, Norm.  Enjoy your trip down here!  Weather will be crummy, of course.  Let me know how the Vandy visit goes!

SurlyBill-   THANKS for the Skechers tip!  My Ultra R2s (or whatever they are) came today and feel great.  They haven't run yet, but I'm impressed so far just walking around the house.

My daughter's church service was really great.  There was a brunch between the 2 services and an Easter egg hunt.  It's a diverse, inclusive Episcopal church and you can see the Nashville skyline just across the river.  It all has a good "feel".

10.2 miles today for a weekend double double. Not sure that I would have done that had I not been in the mileage game.

                Started running at age 60.

                  Happy Easter, Friends ~

We had a great service at church last night.  LOTS of people, which is not unusual for a Saturday evening service, but there are 3 services today, and I'm guessing they'll all be packed.  Our pastor talked about the fact that this year Easter and April Fool's Day is on the same day, and that Christ's resurrection is the ultimate "April Fool's!"

Jay - I saw a video awhile back that showed how biking has helped folks with Parkinson's, as well.

I took Friday off because I was feeling the no sleeping the previous 3 nights.  Yesterday's 4 were pretty decent, and then I volunteered at a trail race in the Arcata Community Forest.  Had a god time, as always.

We're having a stunner of a day today, and I ran 7 at the McKay Tract and felt pretty darn good.  Nothin' else on the agenda except relaxing.  And a shower.  I definitely need a shower.

                  Okay.  That's it.  Enjoy ~~

                      but what's with TM'ing when there's

a beach like that to splash along outside.

this year Easter and April Fool's Day is on the same day

zigs - it wasn’t in the same context but ours noted that the next three April Fool’s Easters aren’t until 2029 and 2040 and then not until 2108.

In light of another possible boot-camp Aquafit tomorrow and Saturday’s marathon, enjoyed taper day drive with DW over to the UW where no rain and cooler temps down into the low forties have the cherry blossoms even more blooming than last week.

I know, right?  But we are in a foreign country, after all, and I wanted to get the lay of the land before I headed off the property.  Next run will be on the beach.  But not tomorrow, because we are headed out early for a half-day catamaran ride/snorkling along the reef trip.

                              Hello everybody!  Happy Easter!

It has been a very busy day.  We had 34 people at our house for Easter dinner...and, of course, an Easter egg hint that had to be done inside because of the recent snow and cold temperatures.  It was busy but fun.  I always hate seeing my kids leave.

I managed to get 6 miles in, this morning, before leaving for church.  It was 10o.  I don't like Mother Nature's April Fools jokes.

Speaking of church...Debbie (who never gets up in front of the church by herself) did a dramatic reading depicting Mary Magdalene at Jesus' tomb.  She absolutely nailed it.  People were wiping tears out of their eyes when she was done.  I was kind of proud of her.

                              Okay--gotta go.  See ya!

Hey y'all, Happy Easter!  Not sure what happened to yesterday's post (and on my computer I can't even find the thread), so Congratulations RunnerKSA on the 1000!  Big achievement and I'm confident you'll hit the 3 year mark!  Yesterday included a 5 mile run early, a 39.3 mile group road bike ride, then another 2.8 mile run later in the afternoon.  After that, the Easter Vigil Mass.  Ours went a bit longer than RunnerKSA's -- 2:30.  Father said at the start of his homily that he just had to be finished by dawn.  At the end, he told us that there are parts of the Vigil Mass that are optional....and he didn't remove any of them.  He said if he had, he would have cost us the opportunity to share the gift.  I was one of the lectors, had 3 readings.

When I got up this morning I went to a local state park (Cliffs of the Neuse) for a trail run.  Got in 7.5 miles at my trail pace (which is pretty slow).  Lots of up and down....for this area!  You trail specialists would call it flat.  After that drove to New Bern to see Mom, my sister and some of her family.  Need to pack since I leave early tomorrow for a trip to Denver.  I'm serving on a board that provides "vectors" to the younger officers in our career field.  The panel I'm on will be looking at Lt Colonels and Captains.  Meanwhile, upstairs, the Generals will be discussing....us.  If nothing else, hopefully I can find out where they'd like me to go for my next assignment.  Anyway, if you don't hear from me for a bit....that's why.

                                Have a great night everyone!
