Sorry about everyone still dealing with ouchies, injuries, and illnesses. But it appears that you're all being smart about it, so I hope you'll be back in shape soon.
About 12+ years ago, i went for a series of acupuncture treatments. Needles went in (I didn't look either), the door closed, and I invariably slept till the door opened again. After 6 treaatments, my sciatica was gone, and has rarely shown its face since then. So I like acupuncture!
I'm glad to see more and more reports of good running weather. How long will it be before the heat starts taking its toll?
I went 7 pre-dawn RW miles under clear, moon-free skies in 39° temps, and then walked another 2 miles to breakfast.
Have a greta Tuesday!
Jay
Without ice cream there would be darkness and chaos.
Thanks, Jay and good morning y'all.
1.5 outdoor miles but my leg was not good. Felt off balance and weak- probably from having needles stuck in my butt and being poked and prodded. DOES feel a lot better non-running, so I hope it just needs to settle down. Running doesn't make it worse, and it isn't pain-pain while running, just tight and uncomfortable. Onward..... Of course, I had a voice mail and an email from my boss before I even got ready for work, which is always a nice start to the day! (he's a great boss- so not complaining- but I like to be very responsive and I needed to be at my computer to do so.)
Out there running since dinosaurs roamed the earth
I"m pretty good about purging my clothes. I give things a long hard look every year, and if I haven't worn something in the last 12 months, it's gone.
Surly Bill - If your life accomplice is 5' 8", has an inseam of approximately 31" and weighs, oh, generally 145 lbs. and feels the need to purge clothes in a general direction, I live not too awfully far north of you. We can figure this out. I'm willing to travel.
4 miles this a.m. with 6 x 1 min sprints after the 2-mile mark, with full recovery in between. Egads!! . . . I wonder if people who drove by me in the dark thought I was running away from something . . . .
I forgot to put on my watch this morning. I wear a watch every day. I feel naked and off balance without it.
Okay - Go forth and conquer, my friends ~~

Afternoon all, A nice & easy 5.8 miles run for me today. It's warming up rapidly here. This Sunday's OKC Memorial Marathon may be a little too warm for the folks that have been training in an unseasonably cool spring & winter. I'm really glad that I'm doing the half. Hopefully, I'll be done before it gets too hot & humid.

Size 2?!? I think I was that size when I WAS 2.
I looked up Maison Margiela . . . int..er..es..ting..... a see-thru trench coat going for $2,995. Now, if you're wearing a see-thru trench coat and you're nekkid underneath, is it still consider "flashing" if said trench coat stays closed?? Inquiring minds want to know.
And are people actually wearing this stuff???
Ah, Leslie, loosen up a little, it could be that special look you've been searching for! But actually, we could probably share stuff....
I am truly awful at it. Mind you at my trade show a couple of weeks ago, I was wearing a jacket from my college days, one shirt that was at least 20 years old, and another that was going on 12-13 years old.
I guess I should feel flattered that these things (generally) still fit me.

No one wears couture stuff regularly, it's only purpose is to get exposure and show off design/construction skills at fashion shows. Kind of like those custom cars that are so modified you don't know what they were originally. well, SOME people might buy and wear it, like celebrities or wanna-be celebrities. Most isn't for sale, it's archived by the people who designed or made it, like the stuff filling one of our bedrooms. As per the size 2, that was what the stuff was made for to fit the models for the shows, she wears a 4/6 .
Sees-the-Ground maybe I missed an earlier appearance in the daily, but if not welcome. If I did, good to meet you!
I did not run today. In fact all I did was get up and work. I am just swamped due to an overenrolled class. I sure hope that tomorrow I can get up early enough to use the elliptical. On the plus side I got some good news on the research front. Turned out my research assistant had "senior moment" (despite being well short of 30) and was running tests that made no sense. I found out what he was doing, he fixed it and viola everything worked! Made my day. Yes, my life is pathetic.

thumbs up on the achilles, much less sore during the day and run. Temps in the 60's here, cooling down all week to the low 60's.
acupuncture; Reading up on the TENEX procedure with thoughts of getting it done next Winter, it's like acupuncture on steroids, and maybe this is one of the aspects of acupuncture that COULD have a measurable effect. TENEX uses ultrasound to find damaged tendon locations, and to guide the needle into them. Then it's like a microscopic slap-chop, Cuisinart and robo-stabber with attached vacuum. Punctures and tenderizes the bad tissue and removes some of it, probably a little good tissue as well depending on the skills of the operator. This promotes blood flow, which heals the tendon where the bad tissue was removed. Maybe some acupuncture treatments damage the tissue and promote blood flow to the area. (yes, I know about the nerve stimulation theory and the chakras and all that)
