Beer Mile (Read 43 times)

Elly.

Well, Tanya, are you going ahead with this swamp beer mile?

    Why is it sideways?

beer miles are overrated, that's my opinion. beer = good, racing = good, but beer and racing together = meh.

people get confused about the beer mile because really its main function is to give people something to talk about: "whoah I am running/ran/once ran a beer mile" and then people talk about it a lot so it sounds like fun, but really the reason people talk about it so much is the fact that telling the story of the beer mile is like 10 times more fun than running/drinking it.

Better to get together for a run and then drink. This is tried and true.

      My considered opinion.

I just hope people wear more clothes than they did at Bill M's beer mile!  There are some things I will never un-see!

Out there running since dinosaurs roamed the earth

        Elly.

          Shocked

That ended up more like a frat party.

I take it, Jeff,  you don't care for hashing, either.

I don't know about that. I think I had a serious blast the 2 times I did Bill's beer mile. I mean, it's a completely stupid event on so many fronts. What's not to love?

And YES, it's happening. There's a thread about it in the Swamp.

mta: so, what's your beer mile time, Jeff?

ok sorry to be the spoil sport. I think I ran like 9:45 or something back in the day.

              Elly.

Well, Tanya, I'll volunteer for anything you want me to do. It does not have to involve a camera. The only request is that when the beer mile has been completed, I'll get a beer for my efforts.  I WILL remain sober until the job is done.  Wink

I hope Amy shows .... she's the Beer Mile Princess, but I believe Wrigley Girl might give her a run for the money.

We might get up a friendly wager.
