I'm planning on the Dirty German 50K if I can stay healthy.
Are we there, yet?
I think Dirty German is the same weekend as 3 Days at the Fair, so it depends on my work schedule. I have friends running at 3 Days at the Fair who have supported at NC 24, so that's my priority, but if work prevents that, Dirty German is a definite possibility - to cheer at least, if not run.
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
Eat to run, Run to eat
50 Dirty German miles for me!
Stone Mill 50m 11/16/13 12:42
Febapple Frozen 50k 2/22/14 9:20:55
DIrty German 50m 5/18/14 12:06:16
Awesome! I'll be there to cheer you and Muppy on. I know a couple other folks doing those distances so HOPEFULLY it's another nice day like last year, and I'll hang out drinking beer and eating while you guys keep running.
I'm running the Dirty German 50k, I was sick & got lost when I ran it last year <oops> so I'm going back in hopes of improving. Even though I felt crappy & I followed a guy who made a wrong turn, I enjoyed it last year. He and I realized we were in a wrong spot when the trail opened onto a busy intersection - pretty funny - after we back tracked we concluded that people had been standing with bicycles on top of an arrow on the ground and we missed that crucial turn. It's also a good tune up even for The Laurel Highlands Ultra in June.
OK, it;s the big day this weekend!!
Roll Call!!
Jbyram2 - aka Jody , running 50M. I'll have last years hat on, and most likely a black sleeveless "Hamilton area trail runs" shirt and blue shorts..
II'm doing the 50K, my real name is Mark (but don't tell anybody) and I'll probably be wearing my lucky yellow shirt. I'm 6'2" with short curly brown hair.
George checking in. Not sure when I'll arrive since I work until midnight tonight and I do need a little sleep. Will probably be wearing a bright orange shirt.
Done. finished the 50m in DFL place, with a 12:06:15
Everybody passed me, including muppy, who's lucky yellow shirt jinxed his camelback instead.
Since there is no one to talk to in last place, I spent the last lap singing, and my race addled brain remixed The sound of Music yodeling song:
"One little girl in a pale pink coat yodelay-ee yodelay-ee yodelay-he-hoo" against the bass line from Red hot chili peppers "give it away" Both are about running tempo, and don't change chords very often, so it actually seemed to work.
How was the IPA, Dani?
Just posted on FB a few pics of the trails and TrailsnCocktails.
