    The trail is moving along. There will be a public meeting at the Pickens Y in Nov. If you have any ideas or just want to show support, stop by.

      I guess I should have included that in the post instead of just the link. I still think it would be a great idea if we put together a 5k to raise money for the trail.  We need to find a date that won't conflict with the other runs.Hopefully it would also attract a lot of families and walkers to show a sign of community support.

        This is a fantastic idea...suggestions on course route?

          At least avoid the hill in front of the new middle school/old high school lol

            The Pickens course would avoid the small hills by the new middle school and focus on the real hills near the library

                    I'm sure everyone here has see the public invite but just as a reminder there will be a presentation on May 1 at 6:00 PM at the Easley Greenville Tech Campus. It looks like were past the point of if will happen but when. I personally believe the majority of the people in the county are for the project. With elections coming up in Nov, it is important to find out want your county representative thinks about the project. If they are  strongly AGAINST the project, consider voting them out and replace them with somebody more community friendly.

                     

                    It is also time to get more serious about showing community support for the project. The best way I think we can do that is by doing a charity 5k.

                      The 5k is on. It will be held July 26th at 7:00 am in downtown Pickens. WE NEED SPONSORS. If you know anyone who wants to increase exposure of their business or show support of the trail have them go to the Pickens Revitalization Association office at 111 Court St in downtown Pickens or e-mail at DoodleTrail@charter.net.                             The Doodle Trail project is buzzing along and it looks like the crews we taking advantage of the nice weather this week. The Ground Breaking ceremony will be held next Thursday at noon. https://www.facebook.com/PickensCountyDoodle
