South Summit XC

  

The 200 Mile Club is a summer base training for our Cross Country runners.  We will meet for group runs Friday mornings at 8:00 am starting June 18th.  We will run on a variety of local trails. 

 

                                                                

     

                     

Miles count from May14 to Aug. 21, 2021.  Four miles on a bike count as 1 mile running.  If you start May 14th, that's exactly 2 mi/day.  If you are new to running, start slow, say 1-2 miles every other day the first two weeks, then build up gradually. It's OK to walk!  You should have at least 100 miles by mid-July.  Record your miles on RunningAhead.com. This online running log has features where you can use GPS to track miles and map routes, set goals and keep track of PR's. Contact Coach Dean pdean@ssummit.org for password info to join SSHS XC group or any questions you may have. You can also just keep track on a calendar.

 

Please let your parents know you will need a physical and ​​have to set up an account on RegisterMyAthlete by August 6nd.  Doctors get busy as school approaches, make an appointment early.  The $100 fee can be paid at the district office, with Jane at the high school, or MySchoolFees.com.  Regular season practice begins August 6th.  If you can't make summer practices, you can still begin when school starts, though you will miss the first few meets.

200 MILERS:  If you go to your summary page on the Training Log tab and hit EDIT LAYOUT, you can add the Widget "Goal" and customize it for the 200 miles.  It will do the math and tell you if you're on course to accomplish your goal.
