We train hard, push up hills, and run through pain this summer so that we can WIN in the fall. However, more importantly we train hard so that we can glorify God with the gift of running He has given to us.
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." --Colossians 3:23-24
"I believe God made me for a purpose, but He also made me fast, and when I run I feel His pleasure" -- Eric Liddell
Its our prayer that we will all train hard this summer, because that really will help us do well as individuals and as a team this fall and it will make the season so much more fun. But ultimately our goal in running is not to achieve earthly success and glory, but rather to point to Christ and to worship Him in every step. As we train hard to be better runners, let us also train hard to be better followers of Christ, resting in Him alone in all aspects of our life!
