Checked in late, and no dailes. SRD for me today. Had some knee soreness last night after a long run.  I pushed the pace the last 2 miles, and I guess it didn't like that.

Sandy - congrats on you marathon finish.  3:55 needed for a BQ. Yo must have aged up recently?

Messaged Muppy yesterday. He's still a walking boot for 2 more weeks, but said he's walking up to 2 miles a day.  Told him to stop by and we can commiserate with him.

SRD. But after a nice stretching session I did ride the bike for a little bit - very slowly. I don’t feel that bad today.

AT, yeah I’m as old as dirt so they give me more time. I wasn’t really planning to do Boston, the BQ was just something to aim for.

        Muppy, hang in there!!

mt, I’m with TE.  The trip looks great. How far did you have to hike in/out to get to the cabin?

Sandy about 15 miles round trip- the ski in is mostly gaining elevation, so the trip out is quicker

we're using short little backcountry skis (Altai Hoks)- kind of a a cross between a ski and a snowshoe

Throat is sore and heel still is to.  Heel is too sore for a run but I really need to put is some time outside to freeze some germs so I'll try a short walk after I run some errands.  4 miles at the most.

Muppy - If you're lurking, hope you heal fast. Check in and give some updates.

AT - Keep that knee in good shape for May.

Warden - That looks like some nice fatbike territory.

Sandy - Congrats on the decent time.

Tim- he doesn't, pretty warm temps (low 30's), but I think I'm going to try some musher wax- not sure he would keep booties on

DD- there just might be enough pack for a fat tire, I think you'd find out pretty quickly from the trailhead if there wasn't

                * just to show how stupid people can get- when we got back to the parking area, someone after we left the day before had tried to drive their pickup in (not sure why)- they made it about 25' where they were quickly sunk in about 2' of snow- dumb ass

Ran 5; felt great for a change. I took too much of a break over the holidays.

Ran 9 days in a row, so taking a day off from running. No big miles, just consistent running, um jogging I mean. Will hit the planet of fitness after work for weights and stretching.

QOTD: I like the scenery, but I don't like all that snow. So just keep sending pictures.

Warden - Any beer on that sled?

Sandy - Good job on the road marathon. I'd be ashamed to see what I would run these days so good one regardless of BQ status.

Moonlight - Glad you are back and safe. Cold and night and having issues = scary.

In dog beers, I've only had one.

Warden, you lead the good life! Great pics!

AT: Hope the knee is just a passing twinge.

Sandy: congrats! I hear people run on roads, it keeps them off the trails. Don't tell those roadrunners what real running is...they will crowd the trails.

                        XT: enjoy the day off.

LB: Glad it was a good 5.

I had the day off from work today, anticipating I would have traveled home today. Short race made the travel ok yesterday. Glad for it, driving through Chicago would have been awful...of course...now it snows after a snowless race!

Today it is all about waiting for the arrival of my new granddaughter. My daughter-in-law is in labor ( a week overdue) but going very slow. I'm just waiting for a call to come up to see her. Trying hard not to be like my ex mother in law when I had my first baby!

QOTD:  Mike's almost as nice a guy as Jamie, so no hate .   Only envy for where he lives.  I'd move there, even with the snow, that's 1/2 the fun. DW loved it too, and we were there for snow.

Still really think we should get a group adventure going.

Running dates are cool... if I hadn't set it I wouldn't have done it today.  6 mikes and felt really good after 16 yesterday.  Last weekend I ran 14 in Saloman Sense and my ankle was sore.  The sunday ran 16 in Hoka Challenger and no oroblems.  Guess I need to stick with Hokas just wish the toe was wider.

Qotd:  No I live in a pretty good place.

Warden:  Those skis look cool, the best og both worlds. Tiny ever ride on the sked?

Sandy:  Nice job on your Marathon.  I BQ'd once but had no interest soending a lot of dough to run a riadrace in a city.

DD:  Hokas... almost completely solved my heel/ankle pain.
