Another vote for Fenix.
I only use a handheld, no headlamp. I hate the lack of contrast you get with a headlamp.

I have a couple of Fenix lights, well made and reasonably priced- they don't get used for running though
for running at night I use two headlamps (Black Diamond ReVolts), one on my head and one on my waist, I can keep them turned down a bit w/ two lights which adds life to the batteries and two lights gives me the depth perception needed that a single lamp can't
