Good little read from Gary.
This is what ultra and trail running is all about - the good, the bad, and the ugly. Such an emotional roller coaster!
My favorite day of the week is RUNday
I read this piece earlier. Class act.
Gut wrenching for him to get turned around within the last few miles. My heart went out to him. But then the way he handled it - total respect.
tbd.

I was following closely. As he said, by getting off course the 6 seconds didn't matter. I'm sure his mind was mush on the last loop, especially since they ran together for the first 4 and this was the first time he was alone.
“Paralysis-to-50k” training plan is underway!

I feel bad for him.....he said if he had turned around when he realized he was lost he may have completed under 60. Sometime decision we make can drive us crazy...especially when we are running and thinking about stuff. Which us runners do all the time. Don't get me wrong..awesome job, class act blog, big kohoanies. Then again maybe he's already planning his next adventure.
