Go Couch go! I cannot tell what a good pace is for this race. Hopefully the weather is cooperating.
My favorite day of the week is RUNday
Hey all.. saw Couch this morning at Edinburg Gap (1st main aid station, 12+ miles). She was a bit bushed at the time but alert and mentioned seeing orchids and a great sunrise on Short Mountain.
Since that time I have done the following..
Helped break down the aid station at Edinburg Gap
Had breakfast down the mountain in Woodstock
Ran a 3 hour out and back on the Massanutten trail
Had lunch at Fridays
Drove 5-6 hours home from VA to PA
Couch is still rolling. Go Couch.. looks like the rain has cooled things down for the night.
Cutoff here is 36 hours. She is doing well!
In dog beers, I've only had one.
Are we there, yet?
I'm assuming that as long as she is several hours ahead of the cutoff, she's doing well.
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
Looks like 72 have DNF at this point.....couch is still out there. Bring it home Marie!
Go Couch Go!
Looks like she is still going strong and getting closer!
Just passed last aid station at 11:30! She's in the home stretch. And the weather is rough--75* and 85% humidity. I see that 73 runners have dropped so far, out of 199.
It's after 1pm....she has to be close if not already finished.
The humidity looked brutal all weekend.
Looks like she finished at 1:39 pm.

Faster Than Your Couch!
Thank you so much for all your support! I was thinking of you and that you had high hopes for me, that kept me going.
Thank you, XT, it was great to see you at Edinburg Gap. Like you said, I was a bit beaten up at the time - the humidity just got to me. In fact, I was considering an early DNF because it was so bad, but then you were there, and I did not want to just give up. At mile 30, I was sure I would DNF, but for some reason I just kept going, and things turned around in the evening and night.
After the race, I soaked myself in the jazcuzzi and now I'm recovering. I'll write up the RR soon.
Run for fun.
