So I had a temporary crown put on yesterday on a molar. I thought it was going to be horrible as my first crown was. But it wasn't. I won't say it was an enjoyable experience but altogether it went ok. Got in a nice 6 miles this morning under the bright moon. It felt good - little effort.
Jon - good to "see" you again.
QOTD: Had any bad or strange experiences with surgeries/procedures/dental work or other? and care to share?
I remember getting my wisdom teeth out years ago and I was apparently really loopy coming out of the anesthesia - I was non stop chatter (which is totally opposite from what I normally am). My brother thought it was funny.
Have a great day!
My favorite day of the week is RUNday
No run today. I may run after work, but I am on a schedule to run 5 days a week. And I have done 3 already. I am just going to take it easy this entire year.
QOTD: Thankfully, nothing lately.

I went to the climbing gym last night. Alone! Because the boyfriend is having some elbow pain. I didn't die and it was still fun, but not as fun as having company.
QOTD: I've had two surgeries, my wisdom teeth out, and more dental work than a person should ever have. I'm just going to go "LALALALAICANTHEARYOU" to the answers to this question, because I don't want to know. I have a few stories, but I'm not typing those out for all of the internet to know forever!
Running is dumb.
SRD.
Hey Jon, welcome back.
qotd: Fortunately nothing.
2/17/24 - Forgotten Florida 100 Mile, Christmas, FL
No run or workout yet today. Busy morning so far. Plan is for a few miles this evening at the local trail or out by the lake. Day 17 of running. Day off tomorrow I think just because.
QOTD: Ha. Yes. When my right knee was scoped for meniscus repair in 2011, I woke up during the procedure. The anesthetist noticed and said something like "hey, that's the inside of your knee on the screen". I could not feel a thing, but do remember they had some classic rock tunes playing in the OR. Wish I could have remembered the song. Could have been one of those "the gods must be crazy" moments.
Mr Jamie - You need a new dentist. Mine does a crown in one visit of about 2 hours. No temporaries. You walk out with the permanent crown. Uses some 3d imaging gizmo and manufactures it right there on the spot.
In dog beers, I've only had one.
That's crazy! Maybe that is what Mandy did not want to hear....
And re the dentist - would be nice to only have one appt. but since DW works for this dentist, we pay nothing for it so I will take however many appts. it takes if I get to pay $0.

3 miles along the creek and heading to lunch yoga in a minute.
+1. Bone and joint talk makes me squeamish (as a vet of 3 broken arms).

qotd: No (thankfully). But I did have a funny dream about getting dental work last night. It was taking forever and the dentist and I decided we would just finish it another day so we could both go home and take a nap.

2 1/2 hours on some logging roads and exploring a new trail area. The trail didn’t match the map after a while, so ended up being an out and back instead of a loop.
Can’t tell you how manny times a patient passed out while I was explaining their MRI or x-rays. They always say the same thing like “ I knew that was going to happen, so I should have told you ahead of time”.
QOTD: Had 6 crowns in the past 18 months. I had 3 super strong gold crowns that had worn away the teeth opposite the. When the first gold crown fell out, it was out with the gold and then fixed the 3 teeth that the gold crowns damaged. Now I need to find a place that will buy my gold crowns, probably not worth much. Jamie, my dentist has the 1 day crown making machine, but they sure weren’t free.
“Paralysis-to-50k” training plan is underway!
Had 6 crowns in the past 18 months.
I'm currently at 2 crowns, 1 pulled tooth, and 1 implant in the past 12 months. Once I get the crown on after the implant, it'll be 3 crowns. You win.
running under the BigSky
3.5 miles with Tiny E yesterday evening, similar planned for today
qotd: knock on wood- nothing; two years ago the dentist told me (after examining x-rays) that I needed to go see a specialist as I had an infection in a tooth that I had a root canal. I had no symptoms and never showed to the specialist. A year later after xrays, nothing was said about any infection- miraculously healed myself or it was BS???

We gave our dog a root canal...you never seemed to have a problem with the tooth but it turned brown and the vet said they can't pull out incisors... later I had a friend who had to pull their dogs incisor tooth. I am sure we didn't need to do anything. Doctors, dentist, lawyers and cops you can't trust any of them!! Even that AT guy...and well you too.
6.4 miles on the rail trail in Clare MI. Nice slip and slide with blowing snow. Really slow considering it was flat.
QOTD: Nothing really. Last year the eye Dr said I have cataracts. said they are congenital but this is the first time I've been told that. The dentist wants me to consider braces. Used to have perfect teeth but some are chipping and he said my jaw is changing. Never want any dentures.
Running in circles around the indoor track this week due to time and weather. 8 miles yesterday, 3 today.
QOTD: I've been to the dentist maybe 2 or 3 times in the past 40 years, so nothing to tell there. My only surgeries were a cyst taken off my back and turning the baby maker off, both of which I was awake for. Oh, and I did have ingrown toenails removed twice, once with anesthetic (local), once without. I would recommend with. My babymaker stopper surgery was the first done by the surgeon, his name was Peter Ball. I think he was pretty bad at stitching, but no babies since then, so objective achieved.
Sue, you hurt my feelings.
