My Auschwitz Trip - 70th Anniversary of Liberation (Read 32 times)

charlesmoman

A great trip to a terrible place. Here is an article about my trip in our local paper.

I have so much more to tell, but now - also a ton of great photos.

Sometime I will give a link where you can look at them, if you wish.

I am going back to Auschwitz in 5 months for the summer version.

And, of course, I will be making a video or two.

Charles, thanks for sharing the article.

When I was a grad student, I traveled with a group of students through Europe one summer.  We were a loud, rowdy group of early 20 year old's until we got to Auchwitz.  After touring, the change in our group was noticeable and our group tour leader said she saw the same thing with every group, how you can't help being changed seeing what really went on there.

        “Paralysis-to-50k” training plan is underway!

Thank you for sharing the article. I went to the Holocaust Museum in Washington DC and though it was quite a somber experience, I can't even imagine what  your vist was like.

It is a real profound trip, I am sure.

I recommend also watching Claude Lanzmann's Shoah, although the emotional impact of that film is quite intense as well (although less so than a trip, I would imagine).

I found an online store with Shoah. It is not easy to find, but now there is a BluRay version, but it is pricey.

I have been to busy to look at it, but will soon.

Thanks for the suggestion - I had read about it, but totally forgot about looking for it.

I'm surprised you had such a hard time finding it. We carry it at B&N in both DVD and BluRay versions.
