Interview Tuesdailies (Read 55 times)

Endless trails

I'm heading out for yet another interview; today's adventure is with the Department

of Correction, position is Contract Specialist.

Got 5 miles planned for the afternoon.

QOTD: Are you likely to try new running products or stick with the tried and true?

      Jon beat me to it!

Loving that it is sunny and 83 today in Maryland. The weather shifts so quickly. Crazy stuff. I am meeting the local running group tonight for 10 on the trail. Cannot wait!

qotd # 2: what is your goto song when you are struggling during a race?

I have not run with an iPod or any music device (up to 50 miles) but I will need to for my 100 miler this month. I am really digging FUN right now. That Carry On song is perfect.

qotd # 1: I try stuff when there are really good reviews. Mostly likely the folks on this forum.

      Occasional Runner

Good morning Jon. Good luck at your interview.

I'm passively looking to change jobs and was offered a "dream job" in the world of running but it didn't pay nearly enough to truly consider it. Bummer!

I didn't feel like running in snow and ice this morning, so I hopped on my spin bike for an hour this morning and terrorized my legs. I'm way ahead on monthly mileage anyway.

QOTD: I try new stuff all the time. Especially the things that companies send me to try out. I enjoy exploring.

Good luck on the interview! I'm looking for a new job as well. But my flexible schedule and salary make it VERY difficult to leave my current one.

I got in 6 easy miles before sunrise this morning. Since I have plans EVERY night after work this week, looks like I'll be joining you morning runners for a while....I am not too happy about it Joking

QOTD 1: I am fine with trying new stuff. New shoes make me nervous, because I've had some problems in the past when trying out some new ones. But everything else I will give a shot.

QOTD 2: I've never run with music during a race. But lately on shorter road runs I will sometimes listen to music (various types) or Trail Runner Nation podcasts.

9.5 miles this morning.  First time in a long time for summer type clothing.  I think I missed spring.  I was sweating bullets.

Jon - good luck! Pulling for you!

I am definately not looking for a new job...yet.  I am in school to further my career endeavors.  I will be done in...a...few...years.

QOTD: I am open to new things...whatever might help me but cost is always a factor so I won't go overboard.

            Have a great day!

My favorite day of the week is RUNday

Busy already this morning!  I have 7-8 planned for tonight, run home from work then meet up with the running group.  Unlike Tmo, I am not enjoying this heat in MD/DC.  Last night's run was terrible.  Heading to Toronto and further north in a few days, so I'll get to return to winter.  Smile

Jon-- good luck with the interview!

qotd1:  nothing recently, except new shoes - cascadias.  I'm somewhere in between as a consumer, somewhat loyal but like to try new things, too.

              qotd2:  I don't run with music (I know, boring!)

SRD for the pooch and me.

                QOTD: New stuff is fun.

QOTD2: No music while running for me.

                  Good morning!

Jon:  Good luck with the interview.

Tmo:  You can have all that 80 degree weather...toooooo hot! Have fun on your run tonight.

Lace: I can understand your reluctance on the snow and ice. Right now we have none, but might have snow by the end of the week.

T&C:  I am not a morning runner either...but I might have to later this week.

                  boyj:  Nice morning run!

rundc: It seems like you folks went from endless winter to stifling summer.  Enjoy the cooler temps up north.

I have caught a cold (a gift from my very sweet 6 month old grandson). It is my first one this winter.  Since I cannot take motrin anymore I am fairly miserable.  I don't know if I will get out for a run today or not. During my run last night my left knee was giving me problems, so I might rest it for a day.  We'll see.  It is supposed to rain today, but I am going to get out for some garden work before it does.

qotd1:  I love trying new stuff. I am not likely to because I don't have money to spend, but if I could I would try one of every new thing that comes out that I have a "need" for.  Except shoes...I am pretty much happy with what I have:

qotd2: I don't listen to music when I run....but if I did it would probably be something from the 70's....probably Bohemian Rhapsody or some such.

                  Happy trails everyone!

6.5 on the roads/rail trail this morning.  Beautiful weather, actually getting hot in CT today.

QOTD 1:  I'm generally averse to gear, because I'm cheap and because I don't like keeping track of various things to carry/buckle on/strap on/fill the night before/etc.

QOTD 2:  Rarely listen to music while running; when I do, I listen to the Green Day channel on Pandora, which almost always gives me a good rockin' beat.

                    dpc3

Morning folks got in 4 this am, now I am off to take a 2.5 day class I was told I was taking by the boss. I am unhappy with my employer and look at jobs every once in awhile but nothing out there that fits my skill set and likes currently, and honestly I am just happy to have a job right now.

QOTD: I am currently in the try new products mode as I am trying to tweak my nutrition

QOTD: I go to dark songs typically, along the lines of Tool or something similar.

Jon: Good luck with the interview

                      Tmo: Enjoy the afternoon run

Lace: Nice work on the bike

Trails: Morning run are the best and are you from Bucks County?

                      Boyjame: Nice miles

runtrail: have a good evening run

                      TT: enjoy the rest

                      Dig: Enjoy the weather

                        Morning all,

Nothing for me today...SRD.  Maybe some pushups and such after work.

QOTD: I like gear.  Unfortunately a lot of it cost preventative for me to try unless theres a really high percentage that I'm going to like it.  I will research a product exhaustively before I drop the money.  If I get a giftcard...thats when I try a product I'm not totally sure about.

QOTD: I don't carry music, but the guitar riff in the studio version of Layla runs through my head frequently.

Morning Trailers!  Yesterday's run of ~ 6 miles was extremely grueling, started out w/ abut a mile of really bad gumbo mud, transitioned into about 6" of heavy/wet snow, finished w/ about 1/2 mile of bad mud- felt like I ran three times that distance!

qotd: 2: most of my ipod music is 90-ish alternative/grunge, most have a pretty good driving beat- Beck, Bush, Cracker, et el

                          Faster Than Your Couch!

                            Good Morning,

Had my job interview yesterday, so I can relate. Good luck, jonfer! And in any case, enjoy the run later!

My ankle took very well to the RICE yesterday and seems to be pretty well again today. I'll still give it just some light running, I'm in taper mode anyway, and my legs are sore, so healing up is definitely my priority these days.

Tmo: Nice temps! Pleasant and warm here in PA, too. Yesterday was my first "heat run" at 66-70 degrees, and I ran the 9.5 miles without carrying a drink - big mistake, but lesson learned!

lace_up: Difficult to step down, even if it is the "dream job". Perhaps some other time a new door will open up for you.

T&C: Running before sunrise is so energizing, and for me, the good feeling then lasts the whole day. Maybe you'll get used to getting up early and turn into a morning runner after this week?

                            Jamie: What is spring?

traildc: Have fun on the group run! I always love the social part of group running, especially on shorter distances.

TT: Enjoy the day off! Hope your dog won't get too antsy.

moonlight: Nasty cold! Just got over one myself. I can't take ibuprofen, Aspirin or other NSAIDS, too, but my doc said acetaminophen (Tylenol and its generics) is often still tolerated by people with an allergy to other NSAIDS. Works for me.

DD2: Sounds like a wonderful morning run before the heat of the day!

dpc: Hope you'll find your mojo for your work soon again!

                            Jamezilla: Enjoy the rest day!

warden: Sounds like my snow run lately... Just let me say that I'm glad all the snow is gone now (except for some patches, and mud)!!

QOTD: I stick with the tried and true for a long period, but when it's time for a change, I like trying out new things, until I find the "new tried and true" again.

QOTD2:  some fast-paced, some light-stepping, or some heavy-stomping crazy rock'n roll, like "At The Hop", "Rockin' Little Angel" or "Sea Cruise". I don't run with a music player, but I can "play" them in my head anytime.

                            Run for fun.

                            Sandy-2

qotd 1: I tend to stick with what works for me, but not adverse to change if it make sense.

qotd 2: Don't run with music, but I do get tunes stuck in my head sometimes.
