Occasional Runner

Forgot to mention the rest of the RA folks!

    Burke (LB2) was my pacer.

Sandy (Sandy2) Ran a strong race with a sub 23 hour finish.

Matt (Weegee) finished about 2 minutes ahead of Sandy.

Betsy (EatDrinkRunWoman) had to fight through the nastiest weather and finished strong.

The loop format switched directions for one lap in the middle of the race, so we all got to see each other a couple of times. It was very cool to be running with the group at such a cool race and it was great to see how well everybody was doing.

    Are we there, yet?

My first win. It turns out these 100 milers aren't easy to win!

That's an understatement. At this point I can't fathom even finishing a 100M race.

QOTD: While by no means my earliest Christmas memory, the one that came to mind was waking up at 5 am Christmas morning the year I was in 8th grade. My brother and I snuck downstairs, carefully opened my new chess set, played a few games, rewrapped it, then went back to bed to await ours parents getting up.

      Endless trails

I won the Cajun Coyote 100 this morning. I finished in 19:01:10, beating the 2nd place runner by almost two hours. I led all 100 miles of the race. LB2 paced me to the finish and he did an amazing job. He's probably the best pacer I've ever had. It was an amazing experience.

That's awesome, Kelly. I guess it was only a matter of time and everything coming together, great job!

            Awesome job Kelly!

So does this win count towards your 2014 goal to win an ultra? or will you need to repeat next year to be satisfied? Wink

It definitely counts. I just got ahead of myself.

                I'm telling Jason Wink

                Running is dumb.

Good call. I have certain goals I have committed to hitting every year between 40 and 50. I'm waiting eagerly for 1/1 so I can tick some of them off for 2014.

It was touch and go for a while, but it all worked out.
