Hardrock Alternative (Read 52 times)

Birdwell

Did you miss out on your Hardrock qualifier?

Has the lottery skipped your name year after year after year?

Well, have no fear, there is something you can do about it!

Sign up for the Tushar 100

30,000+ elevation gain. (about 2500 less than Hardrock)

90% of the race is over 9500 feet, peaking at 12,100 a few times (well over the treeline for much of the race)

42 hour cutoff. Guaranteed mountain goat sightings. The area is home to over 100 of the critters.

50/50 chance the snow will be gone.

Just outside the thriving metropolis of Beaver, Utah. (make sure you pick up your "I love Beaver" bumper stickers)

These are the same folks putting on the Zion and Bryce 100 (Ultra Adventures)

I think I'll be there. Probably working an aid station.

    This race could be brutal.

        I will pass...

        Running is dumb.

May have to put this one on the to-do list.  Do the RDs do a good job at Zion and Bryce?

I think Zion and Bryce have gone well, but I've only seen them from the volunteer side of the table.

The RD, Matt, is a great guy.

I know that Matt will go out of his way to make things the best they can be in any given situation.

hahaha!  I have a desk job (in front of a computer) again, so I'm back!  :-)

I hope you have on clothes today. I thought you had Ebola yesterday.

I will go with easy listening for $200 Alex.

In dog beers, I've only had one.

Looks kinda cool, might have to consider it.

Logistically, Salt Lake City would be the closest airport (3.5 hour drive).

Vegas is about 30 minutes farther if flights there are cheaper.

I might check out the flights to Vegas, they seem to work better for my area. Still a logistical nightmare. Maybe I'll make it a family vacation, rent an RV, and drive.
