My brother just gave me some Lancaster Brewing Company Hop Hog IPA.  Yummy.  Just the right balance of hops and sweet.  Tasty stuff.

                any pumpkin ale!

LB2--I like stouts, too, especially in the winter. There are a couple on your list I haven't tried. Another favorite dark: Westmalle Dubbel.

In the summer, I like lighter stuff: wheat beers, fruit-flavored, the occasional bracing IPA. Had a nice sour boysenberry ale at Brugge brewpub in Indianapolis last summer.

And sure--pumpkin or anything spiced around the holidays! Time to look around and see what's coming out.

I'm a Stout girl...the hop-tastic trend going on in brewing right now is bumming me out :-)

                    My favorites are:

Terrapin Moo Hoo Chocolate Milk Stout

                    Left Hand Milk Stout

Southern Tier Jahva (Imperial Coffee Stout)

                    Dogfish Chicory Stout

                    New Holland The Poet

I also like a good brown ale:

                    Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale

                    Rogue Hazelnut Brown Ale

A bar near me is supposed to be getting Terrapin's one-off Peanut Butter Porter today.  I can't wait to try it!

                    Weegee

While hubby (Weegee) is a total hophead, I'm more of an amber girl.  Here are my favs:

                      Ambers:

                      Mac & Jack's (local brew)

                      Alaskan Amber

                      Fat Tire

                      Manny's Pale Ale

                      IPA:

Elysian Immortal IPA (the ONLY IPA I enjoy!)

                      Browns:

                      Negra Modela

??? nut brown ale (obviously I don't drink it much!)

EDRW is so kind as to save all the hoppy stuff for me.  That really is affection!

For me, anything with a high IBU, ETOH content and a nose reminiscent of Cascade or Willamette hops will do.  Diamond Knot IPA (the old version which was kicked around in barrels in the back of the brewery to simulate a voyage to India) tends to float to the top of that list.

Beyond that, I'm a big fan of Belgian sours.  Monk's Café Flemish Sour and La Duchesse de Borgogne are standouts.

Occasionally a Rauchbier has been known to pass my lips.  Good stuff.

She had me try Tricerahops Double IPA, and I couldn't stand the bitter taste.

I love double IPAs.  I really hope New Glarus brings back their IIPA again.  I'm all out from last year.  Cry  Good thing Bell's Hopslam will hit the shelves soon.

                          Running is dumb.

I keep hoping the "hipsters" and "beer geeks" will start thinking that IPAs are too popular and start drinking the darker/heavier stuff.  Alas, beers just keep getting hoppier and hoppier.  To me, beers that are hoppy taste like flowers.

Kirby Nelson is to be the brewmaster. I know him thru a good friend of mine. If you liked any of the Capital beers you might be happy, me not so much but we'll see.

Set to open in summer. Not sure exactly where but I hope it's right next to Donald park! Big grin
