I'll get around 10.5 tonight in the woods.
QOTD: Sorry. I had a good one, but it slipped away during the night.

Resting again today. Quads are still sore. Did a very easy 30 mins on the elliptical last night.
QOTD: What's your favorite Thanksgiving food? Sorry non-Americans....
I would have to say sweet potatoes or pumpkin pie. Forget turkey, I could do without it.

Morning folks!
Did a mile in the pool last night. Aiming for 4-5 running today after work.
with my new job, I have a very set and rigid schedule (7-4 every day) and I didn't think it was possible, but it's completely throwing me off!
I've had trouble trying to settle into a routine, and working out at the same time every day. I'm not used to it.
It's getting better as time goes by.
QOTD: My maternal grandmothers sweet potatoes. She would use real sweet potatoes and cut them thick (1 1/2-2 inches), and bake them with a sugary mixture. They were so sweet and candy like.

2.3 slow recovery miles with Weston. 26*F, with a pink sunrise.
For those who NEED to see a race report from me, here's the short version:
There once was a runner named Byram
who thought 50 miles would tire him.
He ran and he drank
and he stumbled and stank
and he got Wegman’s markets to hire him!
He paced it the best that he knew,
Made friends with a runner or two
He gorged at aid stations
and uttered damnations
and nailed it in 12:42
The long versions is still being written..
QOTD: Mom's Rhubarb Custard pie, without a doubt.

Love it!
QOTD: Sweet potatoes.

running at night can be hazardous took a "good" spill last night and have a swollen and bruised elbow to show for my efforts- I only took one lamp thinking the full moon would greatly aid my vision, which it probably would have if the cloud cover hadn't rolled in!
will get in 5 miles this evening, with two lamps for sure
qotd: I like it all, but have a thing about stuffing

I didn't want to get up this morning, I made the mistake of drinking coffee last night before bed and didn't get much sleep at all. I almost wore my capris this morning but got to thinking........ 30 degrees seems more like tights weather so I threw on my tights instead and grabbed an extra layer for the top so I had on an under armour long sleeve thing and another long sleeve thing, my ear band thingy and my warm gloves - oh and a good pair of warm socks which I am so glad I grabbed them because within the first mile trying to cross a flooded area I stepped into water and could feel the icy chill in my feet bones - luckily my feet never went numb. Rocky didn't even act as if his doggie pack was on him, so that is good. It was slow going, I mean slow for the first 3 miles but as the sun began to come up things got better. We got 7 miles done which puts me over my 1,000 miles goal for 2013, as of this morning I have 1,006.9 miles and I didn't worry about that extra .1 because I've got a 5k next Thursday so I'll make it up there.
Had chicken noodle soup for breakfast

I needed a morning laugh. Thanks jbyram2, that was awesome.
Time for some miles at lunch. I forgot my bag, so I'll head home and run on the road before coming back to the office.
QOTD: This may sound funny, but I'd skip the meal just to have a turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce on toast.
“Paralysis-to-50k” training plan is underway!
finally got out last night for 3 miles. the ankle didn't feel that great for the first mile or so, then it finally warmed up enough. But it definitely feels weak. Need to get the wobble board out for some strength training before I test it out on real trails.
Jbyram-- excellent report! thanks for the laugh!
qotd: stuffing. and good cranberry sauce. And pumpkin pie.

Excellent! Nominated for best RR of 2013!
Bella and I ran 5.5 miles last night. I'm getting sore in "normal" places from my new mileage. My hamstrings are like...WTF! Haha. Who knew 25mpw could hurt? I need to call to schedule my surgery in the next few days.
QOTD: Pie! I like to have a slice of both apple and pumpkin. Or mashed potatoes. Or squash. Or sweet potatoes. (But not sweet marshmallowy ones...gross!)
Running is dumb.
6 miles this frosty morning. Starting to miss summer already.
QOTD: Blue Berry pie. If I could get away with it I would skip the dinner, grab the blueberry pie and hide in a closet. Me, the pie and a little whipped topping, no fork needed.
Endless trails
Great RR jbyram, nice and succinct.
I did 10 trail miles this morning, 29 degrees when I started and I
still felt comfortable in shorts-maybe my thermometer is broken.
QOTD: Stuffing topped with gravy, but I also like a turkey sandwich
with stuffing, mayo and cranberry sauce.
Doing some intervally stuff later. Maybe running, maybe rowing.
Haha awesome RR, Byram!
QOTD: the best part is cooking the food. Last year I spent 4 hours in the kitchen with my then 4-year-old. I love having a cooking companion.
When it comes to eating, I have a thing for stuffing. I make a real nice one from scratch. Pumpkin pie is also awesome. I was actually thinking I will make some this weekend.
