I have not idea what I will get done today. So many things going on here at work/home/town...

QOTD: Do you ever feel like you just can't get enough time to run, and what do you do to fix that?

Yes, I just try to work it in as best I can when times are like this. Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't.

The air around here was really "thick" this morning.  100% humidity and a warm 77 deg.  Thunderstorm off in the SE direction offered no help and just seemed to tease, only underscored the thickness of the air.   Ended up doing 5 kinda sluggish miles, the legs just didn't want to get going.  No reain, but everything was soaked by the time I finished.  Felt much better once done though, like always.

qotd: I'm going through a very busy time at work at the moment so I can relate to this qotd.  I have found that going to bed early helps.  Sounds strange I know....  but getting more sleep just feels better and helps me get up early and fit a run in before work.

P.S. LB2;  who's that good looking guy on the right?  Isn't he that "Slowdown" person?

      Occasional Runner

I'm still not running. There's still some soreness in my legs so I want to give them plenty of rest before my run this weekend.

I got some good news from two potential sponsors yesterday but I won't get too excited until the contracts are signed.

QOTD: Not really because I make most things take a backseat to it.

Morning all! Nothing for me yesterday or today.

The QOTD is appropriate.  The short answer for me is No.  Other things are more improtant (family and school work) so running gets in when it can  I do think I do a decent job of getting in some good runs though.

QOTD #2: September mileage or time on your feet?

117  miles for me and 21.5 hours.  Low overall mileage but it really was a decent month for me all things considered.

          Carry on...

My favorite day of the week is RUNday

            Faster Than Your Couch!

              Good Morning,

About to head out for the last run before the 100. I'm scared - not of today, but of the weekend! Confused

LB2: Decisions, decisions... hope you'll get a good run in, nonetheless.

Sandy: Sounds tough. Sometimes I like that "thick" air, especially when it's not sunny, but it can be a drag. I always remind myself then that I'll always regret not having gone for a run, but never regret having run. Just like what you said.

lace_up: Yay for the sponsoring - you might become a full-time runner after all.

Jamie: That's called tapering. Looking forward to Saturday/Sunday!

QOTD: I feel like that a lot lately. It is worst when I "should" run a lot in order to prepare for a specific race. Other times, it does not bother me that much, I'm fairly easy on that. When it is bad, I try to fit in early morning runs, even if I have to get up a t 3:30 to do it. I always feel much better during the day when I have had my run already. I sacrifice some sleep for that, though.

              Run for fun.

6.8 this a.m. on rail trail/real trail.  Beautiful morning, 50 degrees and clear with the crescent moon.

QOTD:  Sometimes - running comes behind family stuff, work and sleep, but I can usually get in the running time if I'm flexible about when.

QOTD #2:  186 mi. for September.  Good month for me, a few long runs and long weeks in there.

                Low_O2

4 miles around the neighborhood in the dark last night for the dog and I. Not looking forward to all the dark running that is too quickly approaching, but the cooler temps are nice.

QOTD: Yes, this past month has been that way for sure. If I have a race on the calender that I am training for, I will fit in my runs wherever possible. Without a race my running usually suffers as life gets in the way. I think that means I need to get a race on the calender...

QOTD2: 60 miles Surprised I think this was my lowest month all year. Time on feet is probably better since I spent a few days wandering around the mountains with a heavy backpack on. Hoping to be able to get the miles ramped back up now that my big hunts are over for the year.

The weather was perfect for our 5 mile trail run.  I love this time of year!

QOTD: Not really although my mileage might go down briefly if there are family demands on my time and energy.

QOTD2: 104 miles.  Time on feet, no idea.

Good morning all. I guess about 6 miles last night on the trails along Green Lane reservoir. Ran on the rocky more difficult side of the lake last night. Felt pretty decent overall and on the easier section towards the end even had a bit of zip. Of course took along the gsp.

QOTD: Once in awhile that happens but I can always get up early and make time for a run or run later when it's dark or whatever. It's not the end of the world if I miss a run or day of running but I do my best not to since it's sort of part of me now.

QOTD2: Around 160 miles. I'm too lazy to add it all up but 103 of those were on one single run, hike, stagger, up in MN.

Couch - Keep it short and easy today. Scared for this weekend? That's excitement, adrenaline building. Sense the adventure and embrace it. You will do great!

Low_O2 - I am with you on the dark running. So not looking forward to November and the clock change.

In dog beers, I've only had one.

                      LB2

Sandy: Yeah. I think that guy went by the name of Slowdown...

QOTD 2: I am not sure. I haven't been keeping up with my runs like I usually do. I have done a bunch of 5 to 7 mile runs, and they have been pretty fast.

Howdy!  I'm back.  Had a nice little 3 mile run and a long barefoot walk on the beach in Delaware while I was gone.  I may try to run tonight.  Bella will be anxious to do something.

QOTD:  Not really.  I don't have too many obligations besides showing up to work.

QOTD2: 27 running miles, 367 biking miles, 50 hiking miles.

                          Running is dumb.

                          Daydreamer1

Hoping to get in a somewhere between 4 1/2 to 6 1/2 miles today at an easy pace. Just enough to get the legs used to running again. I'm still a little sore from the week end.

QOTD 1: All the time. Right now I'm starting to reconsider if I should continue with my academic pursuits. I have a good paying job that I like for the most part. upgrading to another job will pay more, but maybe not enough to cover the cost of the education unless spread out over 10-12 years. And school is really cramping my ability to have play time. DW and I need to discuss this a little bit more and I may just decide to drop the school stuff and spend more time playing.

QOTD 2: Just a little over 100 miles. 27.5 miles of that was this past weekends race. No wonder I sucked so bad.

                            Endless trails

                              Morning, folks.

5 easy miles this morning, still in shorts and short sleeve tech shirt, temps were

40's and I was warmed up within a mile. First day with my new Garmin.

FTYC: We'll be thinking of you this week, keep breathing through it. Just making it to

the start line is damn good!

QOTD: I struggle with time with DW on Saturdays and time in the woods, she's mostly supportive

but 5-6 hours is pushing it for me. I figure we've been together for 21 years so if it doesn't work out

I'll be able to run all I want.

QOTD: 174 in past 30 days, pretty good for me.

                              sugnim

Good morning all.  I'll get out for something like 5-8 miles this evening after work, largely depending on the weather.

QOTD:  Yes.  The only fix I have is to be flexible, get your miles in when you can, and enjoy the moments when you are able to get out and run.

QOTD 2:  Speaking of not always having time to run, my September total is 73.86.
