Past or present... here are some of mine.

    1. I would not start a run until my garmin linked to a satellite

    2. I wore tights when it was only 40 degrees

    3. Trails were for the periods between marathon seasons or on easy days

    4. I've been known to Pfitz.

    5. I recorded mile splits into my log for regular day to day runs

    6. I would eat power bars and not complain.

    7. I thought Heartbreak Hill was something to worry about.

    8. I stayed indoors if it rained.

    9. I have trained with a fuel belt

    10. I've used the terms V02Max and lactate threshold in conversation

    Fess up. Purge yourself here.

Trapped in the night, moving alone, caught in a world of glass and stone...

    Down to skin and bone.

Oh, this is fun. I still run a fair amount on the roads just because the trails in Central Iowa suck but here we go. I will base these on when I didn't run ANY trails

      1. All of my clothes matched (shirt and shorts)

      2. I actually used to wash my shoes so they were clean

      3. I would run around puddles

      4. When it got at or below 40 I would stay inside

      5. I mirror the Garmin thing. I don't really even use my Garmin much anymore

      6. I had to be to the mile for what my training plan was for that day

      7. The deadliest of all sins.....I drank Light or Ultra Light beers..............Evil

        I wore WHITE socks.

I ran around a parking lot to make sure I did 10 miles and not 9.97 miles.

I made sure all of my 20 milers were on flat roads or Rail Trails.

          1. I tried desperately to PR a half marathon one summer.  After 3 failed attempts, I finally did.

          2. I posted on the Beginner's Forum for a long time.

          3. I ran a relay race once.  Oh, the shame.

          Ummmm...

I don't have much.  I still haven't run a road marathon.  I have never owned a fuel belt.  All of my PRs are old and outdated because I stopped racing on the road shortly after I started running.  I can start to confess my recent cycling sins if you like.  Joking

Guilty.  But it was a 20 miler and my ride had been ready to leave for a while, otherwise I would have gone back out on the trail for another couple of miles.

There is only one cycling sin. That is being a bike snob. Since I can't envision you being that, I doubt you have been sinning. Remember just because riding long and hard is pleasurable doesn't mean it's a sin Big grin.

Bikes are good, bikes are just, bikes are wonderful. The only bad thing about them is they cost way too much money.

For some reason just writing this makes me want to bang off my class tonight and go for a long ride.

I feel like a fraud just being on a bike in general.  I want to hang a sign on my back that says, "Injured runner."  I suppose it's pretty obvious with the running tech tees and trail shoes I wear...the roadies won't wave to me.

Eat to run, Run to eat

                    1) If I don't watch myself , I run tangents on the trails.

                    2) Still have too many gizmoes.. foot pod, GPS Cell phone app, pedometer, Heart rate monitor

                      1) I am running in a 5k this weekend and I actually know how long it should take me (even though it's a new course).

                      2) I have been jealous of others'  singlets.

                      3) I have run the 5k course in my neighborhood over 100 times.

                      4) I have read Hansons Marathon Method.

                      5) I have run through a park on the road that parallels the trail (it was a long time ago...I didn't know any better I swear!).

                      6) I have felt disappointed that I would not be getting an age group trophy.

                      7) I have been in a corral

                      8) I have run past perfectly good woods while looking for a bathroom

If only I could do it all again knowing what I know now! (actually I currently do about 50% road races...but I promise I don't enjoy them Big grin)

                        This is awesome! Thanks XT!

                        1. I've lined up with a pace group.

                        2. I've pinned a full sized bib on my shirt rather than fold it up and put it elsewhere.

                        3. I've taken a gel before the race.

                        4. I've "jogged" around to warmup before a race.

                        5. I've wrapped myself in a space blanket after a race.

                        6. I've bought a professional photo of myself running on a road.

                        7. I've stood in line waiting for my picture to be taken with my medal after a race.

                        8. I've paid to stay in a hotel the night before a 5k.

                        9. I've bought running items at a marathon expo.

                        10. I once wore a Marathon Maniacs shirt during a race.

I also did all the shit mentioned above.

I know that LSD has more than 1 meaning.

I have books by Jim Fixx, George Sheehan and Hal Higdon (I just dated myself).

My warm-up and cool-down together were longer than the race distance.

                          Brilliant

Wait...this is all GOOD stuff to do, right?

I guess I have been guilty of most things listed. Forgive me.

Mandy--You're a good cyclist. There is no dishonor in cycling and enjoying it. Done it all my life in conjunction with running and love it. You just rode 50 miles--hard to do that if you don't kind of enjoy it.
