Saw this on a Ultra site today. Very sad. I had heard he was healing slowly, but didn't think his complications were as bad as they apparently are. Makes our aches and pains seem trivial.

    “Paralysis-to-50k” training plan is underway!

Yeah I saw this here as well today.  A really tough tough situation, just can't imagine.  I agree, makes our aches and pains trivial.

He will be up and running we a new leg in no time.   didn't a amputee do WS?

I read about this last night and I absolutely understand his decision.  Why go through another painful and most likely useless surgery again when you could just chop it off and be hiking in the mountains again in 6-8 weeks?  Quality of life.

          Running is dumb.

Seems to be the best alternative and hope he's healthy and running around in no time!

Poor guy. I hadn't been following this at all since the accident.  I'd probably do the same thing although one never knows until you've been through it yourself.
