Le professeur de trail
Just thought I would start a thread since there looks to already be 3 of us (4 including Mrs. AT) signed up. Anyone else want to join the madness of running in circles?

So how does one go about training for such an event?
My favorite day of the week is RUNday
Tim
Practice switching back and forth between power walking and running. It can be very difficult running after taking a walking break if you don't train yourself to jump back into running.
DW and I do some long brisk walks and on some of my runs, I do a 8-2 run/walk.
Pick a goal distance and work back from there on time.
During the race, start slow and repeat.
“Paralysis-to-50k” training plan is underway!
Welcome to the party! Since It's in May I was wondering if George might be interested since I think he was looking for a race that was in cooler weather.
The question for me is how to train for this distance in just ~150 days and during the winter at that. If it doesn't snow too much I'll go up on the mountain for some long runs or can even drive up to Danville and run the trail up there. Might have to try doing some doubles or just suck it up and run long on the roads.
I'm hoping that more people sign up for volunteer slots. I kind of talked DW into signing up for a slot, and she signed up for two. So far it looks like she is the only one and she doesn't really have a clue what she is doing .
Are we there, yet?
D3 is May 12th and I've been signed up for the 50K since registration opened.

3/17 - NYC Half
4/28 - Big Sur Marathon DNS
6/29 - Forbidden Forest 30 Hour

Awesome. We'll have to get a Trailer Trash Tent set up at the race.
Such as running the wrong direction?
No thanks. But I will be rooting for you all.

There's running involved? uh oh.
Not much, you can mostly sit in a chair and then go behind the starter and hit the mat and repeat. Oh wait, that's a different thread.
I do 24 hr races just so I can eat everything in sight. The running part is just the means to allow me to calorie load.

Yes - a buffet with a little bit of exercise thrown in.
Whew! You had me scared there for a second.
