I should have posted this on the forum sooner, but for those of you who might be looking for a fun snowshoe race/run/walk/hobble, etc... I managed to get Lake Metro Parks to setup a 5k race this Sunday, Feb.13th.

What: Lake Erie Snowshoe Championship 5k

Where: Lake Farmparks, (8800 Euclid Chardon Road, Kirtland, OH 44094)

When: February 13th, 11:00am

Registration: $10 without equipment, $15 for snowshoe rentals (equipment is limited, so register early!).

Pre-registration will be accepted until midnight February 9th. NO SAME-DAY REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

The Lake Erie Snowshoe Championship is a first-time event, which if all goes well will become a part of Lake Metro Parks annual winter offering. We are adding a snowshoe division to a junior cross-country ski race that is already scheduled for Lake Metroparks Farmpark on February 13. The snowshoe race will happen immediately following the 10 am Jr. Cross-country Ski Race. Participants will enter the main entrance to Farmpark and be shuttled up to the race start. The course will include 2.5K of open field snowshoeing and 2.5K of challenging single-track wooded snowshoeing.
