Just found this site as a result of a google search; http://www.runbargains.com/ Looks like some crazy good deals on there...I'm in the market for some trail running shoes pretty soon here...

I wore several different Inov8 models and loved the way you could really feel the trail in them.Plus they gripped like glue in mud and on wet rock. Unfortunately they didnt have enough arch support for my foot and I developed plantar fasciitis in both feet. Brooks Cascadia work better for me. I recently purchased a pair of Merrill Overdrives. I only have a few runs in them but so far, so good. My Blog http://breakhearttrailrunning.blogspot.com/

Hey OldGuy...did you try the Roclite 315s ? I believe my foot trouble started with the minimal 285s from Inov8, especially as I have a 'good' arch. I bought the 315s and, touch wood, things are improving (That could simply be a function of time though!! Confused)

INOV-8 Flyrocs. I haven't been running trails recently, though because of my stupid job. There is no time to get to the trailhead. Angry In a couple of months, that will change. I love those shoes for mud, roots and dirt.

My other complaint with the Mudrocs and Terrocs is that they were TOO flexible allowing the shock from footstrike to be absorbed by my arch. Thanks, Dan

The tread itself is softer than the the 285s giving a 'sticky' grip on rock and faultless passage through the mud, snow, root, trail and road. They have more cushioning than your285s. Regarding the arch...I don't know. I can only say they worked out well for me! I put my earlier arch/foot trouble down to changing down to the 285s, changing to a different style of running (forefoot) and being overweight.. Things have settled down now - Even the weight to some degree Blush I would say try to find a deal and take a punt..You will probably need to go up a half size over your usual. Good luck.

Thanks Johnny. I give it a try. Dan

                  My sweet new crank!

haven't seen comments about the new XT wings here. I am about 20 miles in and like them MUCH better than the XA proXCRs. Great on road as well. will be trying some single track at lunch today, so we will see what that gives me. Overall I am happy, as i have been getting less than great comfort in the XA pros after 250 miles... They did seem to adjust the quick laces so they have more padding, which helps me.
