Beginner Bike (Read 272 times)

Beware, batbear...

I'm pretty cool with swimming and running, but I've never been into biking.  Can anyone give me some suggestions on an inexpensive beginner bike that I can use to putz around town and (possibly) begin to train with for a sprint tri?

Hey Batensmack....long time...where have you been?

Youre likely to get many answers.

It's really a very personal decision. First thing you need to do is figure out what you can afford and define the bikes primary use.

Any decent road bike can easily be ridden in a Tri. One of the important things about the bike is that it must fit. Get the proper size! Preferrably you'll buy it from a good bike shop and they will help you set it up.

You can usually find great deals on used bikes. I just want to caution you here that having a bike too big or too small sucks. There is a ton of sizing information on the net.

      Good Luck !
