I was very happy with my 5K split this morning. The winning strategy for a great run leg worked this way:

DW wanted to run a fast mile test, so she planned to join me coming out of T2 and run the first mile with me, if she could keep up. I couldn't drop her, but I had to run it fast enough not to get dropped by her (to avoid embarassment). Plus when she dropped back at the end of the first mile (per her plan), she kept going, and at the turn around,  she looked like she wasn't far behind me -- and I never look back, so I never knew if she was closing, so I had to push the rest of the run to make sure I didn't get embarassed by being caught by her
