Thames Trot 5th Feb 2011 (Read 2579 times)

    Hi Jezza

No, driving to Reading, then train to Oxford. Looking at your kit list, i feel i am travelling light as just using my Raidlight waist pack....

Mine is pretty light but this is a GUCR run through:

    1. Spare socks
    2. Spare shirt
    3. Waterproof jacket (if not worn)
    4. Usual comforts (gels, sweets,fruit)
    5. First Aid (Zinc Oxide tape, plasters, space blanket)
    6. 2 x 500 mls fluid
    7. Map

So boys how did you all get on?

The report will be written soon but it was a great run, flat (even flatter than Essex  Wink ) and very tough on the hamstrings and IT bands as the constant pacing ate away at the sinews.

David, George and I went out for Pizza on Friday which was great as I don't we have ever sat down ...go to rush ,I have to take the family out

          Hi Rich

I had a pretty/very good run, apart form having to make a couple of stops in the woods (too much pizza the night before with Jerry and George)

which probably cost me 10mins i finished in 8.15 and 40th 42nd out of 201 starters (according to the Gobeyond site). Had the idea of sub 8hrs

in my head upto halfway but the effort to run sub 9min miles against a head wind for the first 20miles obviously took there toll. All good training for April, so with the next couple of months training and a good taper i am feeling a bit more confident about things.

Where abouts in the world do you live, be nice to meet up for a run before April, if you are still ok to run a Mara with me.

well done all on a successful outing. The weather has not been helpful especially a 20 mile headwind :-)

I am in sunny Hornchurch Essex. Would be good to meet up, DM me and we can go through details etc.

Anyone know where to find the official pictures from the race on Saturday?
