This team missed out on qualifying for the State Meet last year after qualifying the two previous seasons. That hurt. But, we were able to get two girls there, and they ran BIG for us. Better yet, they're both back. We have an opportunity this summer to BUILD upon last fall's success and avenge some of its disappointments. But, it won't be the result of coasting or letting things happen for us this summer. It will be the result of EARNING the success we want in the fall over the summer months. We must be hungry, we must work hard, we must be accountable to each other. The opportunity is there, it is ours to take. I keep thinking back to a quote from the movie Hoosiers (modified a bit to fit our situation). Lots of runners "...functioning as one unit. No one more important than the rest. TEAM, TEAM, TEAM." Ladies, it's time to get to work. Nothing worth doing is ever easy...
