Never ran a marathon ... yet. I am seriously thinking about making the go for it this year. Already registered for a HM in May (did my first HM last year). I am thinking the crowd support for Chicago would be one good reason to do this one for my first. Registration opens next week.....

I think they say that about 1/3 of the Chicago field each year are first-time marathoners. Even if that's a bit high, there's no question that its a great first marathon: flat course, great amenities, great expo, wonderful crowds, etc.
