Interesting. Saving for later. The double version looks rugged.

This is the most promising thing I have seen out of you since...since...holy fuck man it's been a long time. Anyway...

In order to see the truth, sometimes you have to loose an eye.

Ha well I just entered my new "training" plan in the calendar. It's, ummm, somewhat less ambitious than this. Gotta start somewhere.

A list of my PRs in a misguided attempt to impress people that do not care.

You've been out for a long time. Your body will appreciate the intelligent approach. Even it it pains your mind...fuck the mind. The mind is a big fat pain in the ass.

This doesn't exactly fit this thread topic but I don't feel like starting a new one, so whatever. I just stumbled across this site I hadn't seen before...

          http://findmymarathon.com/

I've only looked at it a little but it seems cool. It has all sorts of calendars for marathons and ways to compare the courses and whatnot and so on etc. Seems worth a look if you're into that sort of thing.

          So there's that.

I thought this was cool, not sure how accurate it might be or how one might really be able to really judge.  Obvious some courses are 'friendlier" than others, but would b curious to see how they come up with the numbers.

I used this site to select Erie this fall - it was true to form and I thought the numbers were fair to the course and my experience - even down to the negative (which is why I believe I am dealing with minor PF - Concrete roads).

Andy asked me to post this seminar opportunity - looks interesting. Here is a flyer:

Here is a question...do people train to the worst possible conditions? By that I mean...making goal times in accordance with the unideal race? Or do we just make goals obtainable in the best conditions therefore all training revolves around the mind set of that?

95% whatever of goals are not met in unfavorable conditions that we can not change. But...one can prepare with actual experience for the unfavorable and actually make it part of the schedule instead of avoiding likely chances of whatever may come. The whatever can take any form...weather, sickness or mental stress, tiredness or other. Perhaps by taking goals and giving them a more holistic approach as life will provide instead of a partial approach which only one can hope for..................

Would remove excuses...put the responsible on the goal maker maybe.

                    I don't know...I only know what I don't know.

Anyways...back to the question. so where does one draw the line with preparation? Just to get up off the couch and start running is not an easy task...unless...there is close to immediate benefit or some other motivating factor. Where or when does that motivating factor stop and make one hold steady or recoil...give up...or even as subtle a thing as feel disappointed in running less fast then one day ago? an injury yes but what else? When all external factors are in place and what is, is there, were the fuck does one fail and fall into disappointment?

                      Thank you for the exercise.

                        I'm noodling on your questions.

Me too.  I almost said +1, but of course I don't actually say +1 in real life.

And Greg, I'm glad you weren't snoodling.

I would've snoodled, but it was raining and I was worried about chafing.

For those of you who read these things and like "form" discussion - this is VERY interesting stuff..... warning this isn't a should or shouldn't do podcast - but a learning exploration.

Go to the bottom and complete the three free lessons below (or not) - WARNING: they seem hoakie and dumb - but do em and then go for a run after. Would love to hear what you think. I got more out of these "learning" exercises than ANY medical appointments with Jared - sorry Buzz love ya, but I'm done with being told how to run and what to do - rather than being given short learning movement exercises to build into who I am and experiment with. Feldenkrais hooked.

NOTE: If you pick one to do - try the core exercise - wow - hmmmm using the core and arms with the legs - what a concept that no one has ever told me to try. interesting....
