Vermont 100 mile endurance run report and pictures (Read 210 times)

Bob Dunfey

Although most people think 100 mile endurance races are pretty crazy, many may be curious about them.

For the curious you will find the link for my story as written by my pacer, Steve Pero, practically a legend in the ultrarunning universe, which he posted on his blog.  http://perogoats.blogspot.com/2009/07/pacing-at-vermont-100.html

Here is a link to his picture album with captions that captures well the flavor of the event and the beautiful Vermont countryside course.  It includes pictures of riders on horses sharing the same course simultaneously with the runners.

I said it before, I'll say it again. WOW. You and Dave Saltmarsh can trade war stories. The pictures of early morning in the country look surreal. Bet the whole thing was surreal. Congratulations to you!!!!

But I got to know...why were the horses numbered? Were they racing too?
