just passing on some info. ted's water is turned off but there apparently is a constantly running all year water spue right after the lodges that is drinkable...per sherm. maybe you've seen it running while trotting by. well, it's drinkable anyways if you leave a cup there for yourself or are carrying bottles whatever....

+1 to all of this, particularly the attitude.

I'm in a giving mood so here is one for fro. If your plantars is getting aggravated already from the little you have done then you are doing to much, too often or to fast, to soon. Back the fuck off man. You are not a spring chicken so you need to take a little care. Forget about killing it at MWC. It is January. Focus on ur damn marathon.

I'd like to think I can do both and I have been pretty conservative. Of course you are right and know a ton more than I do.... I certainly don't want this thing to get worse as I can still run with no issue. Here's the question for the group: How do I "back the ?*&^ off " and not compromise my training? Like I said, I have no issues running right now, but don't want to make it worse. Would welcome advise here for sure...

Stop running until the pain goes away is the correct answer. However nobody around would follow that advice.

Thanks Mike for the candid and correct answer - the weird thing is I have no pain when I run (Yet) - just tight and sore when I'm sitting around.

You back the fuck off by doing other shit...swim bike and shoveling snow for the fun of it are just a few. Get new shoes. Try heel cushions. Stop hills for a while. Run slower more often. Stop waving. Those are things to try. Remember...a rope gets tight right before it snaps.

Good stuff and thanks for being willing to smack me around a bit. Cycled in new shoes yesterday and going to be a bit more careful... Do NOT want to deal with a long forced break for sure!
