Type 1 and Type 2 are different beasts! (Read 149 times)

It is really quite amazing the difference between a Type 1's experience and a Type2's experience, especially in the context of exercising and running. Thus far much of the conversation among us has been from the T2 point of view. Maybe we could get some input from a T1 point of view, especially as many T2's will, at some point, begin to use insulin, me being a prime candidate. Doing some reading over at

I can see that a Type 1's running concerns go well beyond diet! Testing is more critical, and injections and pumps certainly can be problematic during longer runs and races. So any comments from type 1 diabetics are welcome!!!!! Also, this user group is not just for discussions about the technical aspects of running with diabetes. It is also for general support of each other as we pursue our own particular running goals no matter what they may be.
Discipline is never an end in itself, only a means to an end. (RF)
