Back pain update (Read 342 times)

My back is STILL bothering me. I start Physical Therapy tomorrow for my back and see a specialist late next week. Doc seems to think I have a herniated disk in my lower back. Doc was talking surgery as a possibility but until the specialist looks me over and runs his tests all it remains is talk. Sure PRAY it doesn't come to that!!!!! Right now though the Mini is off for me! That may change I HOPE!!!!

To paraphrase an old poster: Today is the first day of the rest of your training. It doesn’t matter where you started or how far you’ve come. Today is the day. Your training didn’t start 6 weeks ago. Your training started the last time you hit the road. John “the Penguin” Bingham Life is not tried, it is merely survived if you're standing outside the fire

I'm sorry to hear that about your back. I hope you get good news from the specialist, and don't have to have surgery. My mom just had surgery in November for a herniated disk and she is finally cleared to get back to excercise SLOWLY. She's just walking for now, but I hope she will be running again soon.

Well my Physical Therapist seems the think it is an inbalance casued by curvature of the spin and that it is treatable. She also thinks I amy be able to train for the Mini MAYBE!! Learned some things to help me and they do seem to reduce the pain do there is hope. I have 3 more appointments over the week and for the next 3 weeks. Then a re evaluation. Also I still need to see the back specialist next week. One thing is sure: No PR this year! Well there is always 2009 for that!

Physical Therapist cleared me to run short distances and not to push times
