So just curious what everybody was running back in junior high, and off of how much training?
7th grade: 6:19 zero training- wasn't really a runner yet.
8th grade: 5:50ish ran about 15 miles a week mainly LSD runs. (I never ran the mile in eighth grade but got some decent splits from XC)

6th grade: 8:54 off of zero training
7th grade: 6:09 a little bit of training but still not a lot
8th grade: 5:58 first indoor meet probably 5:45 now and expecting a sub 5:40 in outdoor

I am in 8th grade. I am going to run my first mile race on Saturday. I did a predictor workout today that said 5:16. With race adrenaline I should come close to two sub-5:10. Hopefully by the end of the season I can run sub 5. I am running about 35-45 mile a week during our winter base training.
Goals- Sub-5 mile; sub-11 3200; sub-2:20 800
7th grade- 6:17 off of 8 months of serious running (3 months of track season and the rest was ~25mpw of moderate runs) . That was on top of a year of off and on run when i felt like it.
8th grade- 6:10 off of 7th grade + another year of serious running.
9th grade: 6:24
Update- Ran a 5:18 mile. It was really windy causing everyone to run slower than usual.
I think I got 8 or 9 minutes on it in 8th grade... I had to walk most of it then. I had very minimal training. 9th grade I ran 6: x something off of a little more training. 10th grade I ran low 5s, and this year I'm going to hopefully run around 4:50
