i'll send you my vote later.
but i would like to say that you are an AMAZING leader and we depend on you way too much. what ever happens we all know it would be terrible to lose the friendship and encouragment we all recieve from posting our daily triumphs, struggles, and mishaps.
yall are awesome runners and cool people. i am privileged to know each of you.
ps...nice to know our group is wanted, though, huh?
I want to stay here.
I know I am new to the group, I am also in IT so I know all the work that goes into changes on a web site that being said Honestly I am torn. I love RA for all the logging features and the Garmin Integration, it seems to be available every time I want to post all of that is a plus for me. On the active side of the equation it was what got me to where I am, both the group I went thru C25K with and you all that have gotten me to a 10 mile long run. Really for me it boils down to the people, I am able to collect my data a million different ways, so where ever the group goes I support. I appreciate the fact that you are leading the charge and keeping all of us in mind, for that I have to say a bit THANK YOU for all that you have done.

I just tried to log into (because it dosen't remember you) (in)active and surprise there was a problem. I was going to say I still had an affinity for the old site, but it is just not stable enough yet. I would also like to switch over to the log here from runnersworld, but not until the end of the year.
My vote is to stay here.

I left CR/Active over two years ago and will never go back. I like too many features here. I'm sure most of you have not had a chance to explore the log section yet, where you can not only create your own logs for tracking etc, but create custom out puts and custom courses etc.
On top of that, Eric (the owner) is geart at helping out and taking suggestions for improvements.

Joe, ditto to what Wendy said!
As I mentioned in the other thread, I've been over here since Active took over coolrunning, with the group I went through C25K with. I like the log here (though haven't tried the Garmin integration), and it's nice to be able to see the current page of posts when you're in the posting window, instead of just the last post. There are things I still like about Active, though - like information on upcoming races that appear when you navigate to the threads, tickers that will stay in the signature, etc...
Bottom line, I will stay with this group wherever... Joe, I'll email my vote. Thanks for giving the group the opportunity to decide!
I`m torn - I think active has been good to us - prior to this past weeks upset it really has been trouble free.
I like the other forums not just our thread on active
I find this site that the group is a little too shoved into a corner - It`s a pain to go and see what other discussions are going one elsewhere
I do appreciate the welcome from the old hands at this site
I think we will loose some people who used to drop by once every 2 or 3 weeks and some people who are just taking some downtime right now
Overall - I`d like to give active another chance

Spicegeek - Just wanted to point out, if we join the new Group format on Active, we would also be "in a corner". There too, the threads are under the Group, not the basic community section. Also, if you are on this forum, (even while composing a post!) all you need to do to view the 'basic' Forums (Running 101, General Running etc..) and other discussions going on, is click on the text "Forums" near the upper left corner of the Window (below the text Running Ahead and your displayed username).. So one click will get you there.
BTW, I"m not trying to steer your decison (I read your vote), just pointing out how easy it is to navigate from this User Group/Forum section to the basic Forums section.
Hawt and sexy
Joe, I have been here since the first active meltdown. I will say the only thing you have to watch here is a handful of people that view this site as their backyard. It is a very egocentric culture here, but I think the first wave influx from CR prepared most of the old-time RAers to deal with a more diverse culture. I can tell you that I was not exactly welcomed here, and sadly a bunch of former CR posters also left this site to pursue either other interests or greener running site pastures. It happens. You do have kinship here with the few of us still around from the first wave, but feel free to do as you wish.
PS. Hit me up on Facebook buddy. That goes for anyone else that remembers me from CR. Just put CR or RA in your friend request. Searching my handle brings me up at Facebook. Hugs and stuff.

Joe,
I gotta admit, I'm between a rock and a hard place on this one. I mean, if it wasn't for Active, I wouldn't have found this amazing group...I'm extremely thankful for each and every one of y'all. I don't really care one way or the other who hosts our thread; it's the people, not the site, that make this group unique.
I got an email from Toby today that pretty much said the same thing you got from him. As a USAF-trained programmer and part-time web developer, I can kinda relate / empathize, but one thing I've learned is when you're experiencing problems, you don't keep your customer base in the dark when you're having problems. I've got no qualms with giving Active one last shot, but like the others, I go where y'all go.
FYSA - Here's what I got from Toby:
Hey Rob,
My name is Toby Guillette and I am the Social Media Specialist for Community.Active.com. I know there are a bunch of your 1/2 Marathon Trainers friends who have begun to post over on runningahead.com because of frustrations resulting from the recent upgrade. I want to assure you that we are working hard to fix these bugs. Since the server upgrade on Monday night, we haven't had any outages yet! This upgrade is positioning the community in the right place to sustain the growth we will continue to experience for years to come not to mention it will help us remain on the cutting edge of technology along the way. So thanks for keeping the group going on our site and I want to personally apologize for the troubles you and your group have had with the site lately.
I created a "Group" for you guys and would like to offer you the keys. I even made you a logo. Check it out and let me know what you think: http://community.active.com/groups/12-marathon-trainers
The "Groups" functionality is new with the upgrade and we'd love for you to take it for a spin. You would be our first special interest group!
I really hope this helps keep you all together on Active and to not leave us because you’re a great example of why this community is here and I hope we can continue to make improvements for you.
Please consider this and share the idea with your people. Feel free to contact me if you have questions.

Hello Joe and his mighty army,
My name is Eric and I'm the owner of RunningAHEAD. Welcome to RA and hope that you would stay. Since Active is making a hard sell to get you to switch back, the least I can do is to promote my own site and tell you how you'll be happier here.
All of you wanted to stay together and you can do that whether you're on RA or Active, but RA has more features to improve your overall experience. For starters, the concept of groups has been around for years on RA so we know it works as expected. Active's groups is unproven so in the future you might run into the same problems as you're having right now.
Everything on RA is custom made, which is why all the pages load much faster than Active. You don't have to wait the second or two between each page click like you would on Active. I can add new features based on users' needs much quicker than Active. RA is designed for runners. It has the best running log so you can monitor each other's progress and provide encouragements and suggestions.
I've been working on RA for years now and will continue to improve it in the years to come. I hope that you'll give RA a try. Regardless of your decision, happy running!
eric :-)
