The old "Upcoming Races" thread got a little stale, so I cut it adrift and started a new sticky.
What's everyone in the Northern Hemisphere doing this spring? What's going on down under this fall?
Reply to this thread with your race and I'll try and keep the list in the first post here vaguely up to date
Doesn't matter if it is a HM or not..... tell us all what you are doing.
... and don't worry if you don't want to share a goal...

I'm running the Palm Springs (California) 5k on March 27. I have no goal, I'm just running it because it is near where my parents are staying, though it will be interesting to see how well I can do.
10k tomorrow (8 March)
Waterfront 10k (Wellington, NZ) - goal is 41.59

Fantastic, Mandy! Congratulations.
I am thinking of doing the Sorting Life 10k on May 1st. Really not in shape for it for many reasons including a calf muscle cramp last week, but since I just turned 60 I have a chance to set a PB for my new age group.
PBs since age 60: 5k- 24:36, 10k - 47:17. Half Marathon- 1:42:41.
10 miles (unofficial) 1:16:44.
Running a HM in a little less than two weeks. NYC Half Marathon 3/20/11
First HM was last October. My goal was less than 2hr. I reached that goal, coming in just under 2:00.
I am running the NYC Half with my wife. We do not have a goal time. Before this training, the furthest my wife ran was a 10k in March of 2010. She didnt run at all after the weather got hot here in SC (she had never been someone who enjoys running).
She decided she wanted to run a half with me if we could get in the lottery for NYC. We were accepted and this last Saturday ran 11miles. We will run a 12 miler this Saturday (one week before the race). We are running at about a 12min. pace so we should finish somewhere between
2:30-2:40 in the half marathon. Its been nice seeing her push through and work up to mileage she never dreamed she would be running.
So, I guess a good goal is 2:30, but we'll be thrilled just to complete it together.

fast momma!
I would like to run the Cour de' Lane half marathon on May 29th. I have never been to this event, anyone have any experience with it? I run about an 11 mm, so I would like to finish in under 2:30. It is a pretty conservative goal because this is my first HM. I have been training since August and my long runs are up to 10 miles, so should be doable.
2011 goals: sub 60min 10K
√ run 1st HM (May 29)

I'm running the Indy Mini again May 7. My goal is 1:58 but anything under 2 hrs would be good.

Petco Run/Walk/Wag 5k
Heck, I'm gonna commit to the Fort Worth Half on Sunday 11/14. Need something to shoot for after not recognizing underlying cause of left calf issue for three months! Would love to do 2:45 for a 10 min pb.
bob e v 2014 goals: keep on running! Is there anything more than that?
Complete the last 3 races in the Austin Distance Challenge, Rogue 30k, 3M Half, Austin Full
Break the 1000 mi barrier!
History: blessed heart attack 3/15/2008; c25k july 2008 first 5k 10/26/2008 on 62nd birthday.
Did the Dallas Rock-n-Roll on 03/27 (...my first Half. I finished, yeah!) and it was pretty fun. So, I just signed up for Dallas's White Rock Lake Half on 05/07 (goal 2:15). I also plan to sign up for the San Antonio Rock-n-Roll (HM) on 11/13 and look to break 2 hrs...assuming my training survives the Texas summer heat...
an amazing likeness
I'm also planning on the Indy Mini for 2011. 5/7/2011. "A" goal, kiss the bricks. "B" goal sub 1:40. "C" goal sub 1:42.
Acceptable at a dance, invaluable in a shipwreck.
A minor injury wrecked my marathon plan but instead left me with anothr half marathon to do. Silver lining.

Put me down for Orange County (Newport Beach, CA) Half Marathon, May 1. This has been my target race for quite some time and may be my last running only race until the fall. Realistic goal is 1:36, dream goal is 1:35.
Yay?? I got me a free ticket to Auckland 30 October from the work draw. Now i just gotta decide whether to sign up for the full or half (can sign up for either) Leaning slightly towards trying for my first full marathon but I don't wanna leave this training group so if i do sign for the full I might just pretend I signed for the half ;-) At least I know i'd have a PB in the bag ;-) Wow Mandy if I knew you were doing the Rotorua half I mighta got off me butt and done it too. Bit late now, could run a half but not in shape to run sub 1:40 yet.....I am still in "training for training" mode I got 2 weeks off work now with the kids and my goal is to train in some form every day with the kids whether hike, run, rock climb, swim, netball, cricket....
I had been planning the marathon. Half is good though. Good luck with whichever you decide for Auckland - awesome prize to win!
