Morning!  Rest day today, after all those miles.

AmiK, I agree with RVD, see another specialist for a fresh view of the issue.

CBus, sounds like an exhausting weekend but it also sounds like lots of fun!

Sprinkles, there is an NC forum?

    Have a great day!

Easy 4 this morning on the flat FL terrain.  A bit muggy, but nothing I'm not used to.  I struggled to keep the pace at the low end of my Hanson easy pace range, but I did it.  I will take it with a grain of salt as I start the quality work this week.  I'm sure I'll be struggling to keep pace on some of these easy runs in a few weeks...or maybe not...who knows?

AmiK:  I encourage you to stick around and keep posting.  I found that it helped keep me in tune with running even if I wasn't actually running.  Plus we'll miss you!

cbus:  It makes me tired just reading about your weekend!

Docket:  You take rest days?? Smile

I think.  I am doing weights tonight, so not technically a rest day, but I'm not planning on running.  Take that with a grain of salt too.

Hey guys. I am back from Africa and it looks like I have a lot of catching up to do here.  I only ran once while there so I'm afraid I've lost some fitness.  I am planning to jump right into week 2 of Hansons since I'm only 17 weeks out from Lakefront. Looking forward to doing some hard training again Smile

Hey donuts! Not sure if you all remember me, but I posted last year and was training for sub 4 in Chicago when I got pregnant and eventually decided not to run it. I continued to run about 8-12 mpw throughout my pregnancy and ran 5 miles at 39 weeks. I had my son on 4/2, he's the best Smile I started running again 3 weeks after having him, and ran 13 miles 2 weeks ago with a lr of 5 miles and raced a 5k yesterday. I finished in 25:19, which is pretty good considering I haven't done any speed work, the course had 2 monster hills, I've been running low miles and it was warm and sunny. It felt so good to push myself again and run "fast".

Anyways, I'm planning on running a half on 9/28, so I need to start ramping up my miles. My goal is just to get under 2 hours at this point.

hope you don't mind me jumping back in!

amik - so sorry to hear about your injury woes. I hope your reset is successful.

mdawg - awesome job with your half!

Onemile - Africa! Wow, that must have been amazing!

I have been lurking a bit, seems like you all have gotten fast!

cbus - Nope. Phys therapy is worried more about what it actually is before they screw with it. Cant say that I blame them as it is a little perplexing. It is really only running induced. Anyway, I will see the doc today who will probably just schedule an MRI and a sports doc to read the results.

                onemile - Welcome Back!

I am suprised that my 45 mile ride doesnt have me very sore this morning. I was really feeling the burn during the uphills through the last 10 miles. Called the LBS today and had them order a shorter stem. The bike fit is going well with the exception of the reach. These things tend to be alot more noticeable when you have some miles on the saddle instead of just measuring and tweaking in the garage.

Recovery ride scheduled for tomorrow morning which will be my first night ride. Planning on 12 to 15 easy peasy, no pushing the effort.

Indi - I think ive mentioned it before but, in case not, have you googled "calf heart attack"? Check out the symptoms.

                      Ami - don't leave us

Cbus - who are you pulling for in the Stanley Cup? or should I even ask Cool

Finished the week at 34 miles, a little on the low side for my preference. Would rather have had closer to 40, but still happy. On day 14 of the RW challenge and feeling good.

Hey everyone... Happy (Rainy here) Monday!  Insanity lined up for tonight, as well as yoga.  Nervous about doing Insanity since that's when the foot pain started last week.  eeeeeeeeekk!  I swear, half of it's in my head.

Cbus: Thanks for the concern--like I said above, when I was starting my 2nd Insanity workout last week, I got a horrible shooting pain in my foot which I immediately thought was a stress fracture, since I'm nuts.  I've since moved on to posterior tibial tendonitis (probably because I'm terrible with stretching) and I've been stretching, icing, and NSAID-ing it quite a bit.  Also, sounds like you had quite an exciting weekend.

onemile: Africa?  Nice! Hope you had a great trip.

Also... go Bruins.  Yes, this Flyers fan said it.  I can't not love Chara.  Honestly. And Jagr finally gets a trip to the finals.

MA Runner- welcome and congrats on the baby- that's awesome that you were able to run while pregnant.  I really hope that when its my turn to have a kid, I am able to run as well.

Nice job Nick and Mdawg on the races!

AmiK - I'm sorry to hear that you're still having trouble with your injury Sad  I honestly think that a broken bone was easier than a running related injury, because it didn't really give me an option to do anything but wait it out and I couldn't stress about it.  Before I got clearance from the PT, I couldn't have run even if I'd wanted to - even after I was done with being immobilized, it was probably only in the few days before I got the official go ahead that I felt like my ankle even had enough strength to propel me upward enough to jog.

Indi - glad that you're enjoying biking so much!  I actually have quite a nice bike....which I have not ridden much because I am slightly terrified by it.  That is actually one of the things I want to do most this summer - my husband does triathlons and rides a lot, and we have plans to go and do some long relaxing rides on a rail trail up here to get me more comfortable on my bike.

Onemile - welcome back!  Hope your trip was good.

Docket - enjoy the rest day!

MA runner girl - I don't think I was here yet the last time you posted, but welcome back!

Going running today for the 5th time - I have been feeling pretty good thus far.  Most of my walk breaks I'm taking because I know I should, not because I feel like I need to.  I have a feeling that if I didn't make myself take them early on, by the end of the run I would definitely be feeling like I needed them.  My running segments have been ~11:00 miles, so slow, but not terrible - I'm also not out of breath at all, but my legs just don't have much more in them right now.

Also, if you ever wanted to see a good example of a Garmin's inaccuracy, check out this map from the run where I hurt myself.

                              http://connect.garmin.com/activity/279311637

I didn't stop my watch when I fell, and actually didn't remember to stop it until nearly 8 hours later when the battery started whining that it was about to die.

Looking at that map, I actually did the longer section away from my house and back.  Well, down on my feet, back up in a car - it should be ~.5 miles, total, that I actually traveled.  Then, sitting completely stationary on the stairs in my house for the next 7.5 hours, my Garmin proceeded to rack up another mile of distance, with some of the points looking like they're across the street from my house.  I hadn't even noticed until today that this run was even uploaded, and the map amused me.

                              My wildly inconsistent PRs:

                              5k: 24:36 (10/20/12)
