Electrolyte hydration tablets v diarrhoea treatments (Read 178 times)

I am an avid user of Nuun electrolyte hydration tablets, 1 tablet per pint of water and I am a happy little ultra runner. I am doing my usual research and one tried and tested group of experts suggest that for the longer run it is a good idea to take a satchet of diarrhoea fluid replacement treatments. Both contain sodium and potassium salts, Nuun as a bicarbonate and the treatment as chloride. My layman eye tells me that the two are one of the same and provide the ability to absorb fluid and assume the original advice is for people who drink plain water....your thoughts.

I agree. They will both replace fluids and essential minerals lost through sweating... or through the runs. I think the advice is for people who usually just run with water. Nuun is great.

Cheers Tom The good things, pint for pint Nuun is much cheaper at ~50 pence where as the replacement is about £1.00 a pint (slightly cheaper if a supermarket brand)
