I can walk a sub-14 pace on an 8% grade for 30+ minutes on the treadmill. Outdoors I can take it to a sub-15 pace on similar hills. Practice makes perfect.

I have only run 2- 24 hr. races.  I am a very slow marathon runner (arthritis)  so I try to keep up a  run 10 min. walk 5 min. strategy for my 24 hr.

This works pretty good for the first 14 hrs. or so, then I have to walk the rest.

I trained by running and walking 2-3 times per day, various distances.

"Lookin' back on the track, for a little green bag,

Gotta find just the kind, I'm losing my mind

Outta sight in the night, outta sight in the day,

Lookin' back on the track, gonna do it my way."
