When he was talking about the record being 7:39 pace for 24 hours I almost fell out of my chair. Great googly moogly.

A list of my PRs in a misguided attempt to impress people that do not care.

When he finished, he declared emphatically, "I will run no more 24 hour races. This record will stand for centuries." He complimented the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team, saying he was determined to set his greatest 24 hour mark in one of their races because they are always so well organized and supportive.

Overall pretty even pace.  But I can't believe he ran a sub 3:00 marathon the first part of the race.  It's almost if he was just messing around first part of the race.

that kind of running is very hard to comprehend. I can barely do a 5k at that pace. Actually, I probably couldnt do a 5k at that pace at this moment.

I would think most of the pros could run a sub 3:00 marathon pretty easily, but to start the first 3 hours of a 24 hour race at a 6:52 pace is pretty ballsy...

He averaged 7:10 through the first 100mi (assuming my arithmetic is ok), so it's not like he started walking after that three hour marathon.

It's a 5k. It hurt like hell...then I tried to pick it up. The end.

Yeah wasn't trying to say that he was walking just that it was interesting that he hit 2:59:59 for the first marathon distance in a race he wanted to run 300K in 24 hours.... Seems like he went out fast but maybe that was his strategy.

I finally had a chance to listen to Scott's interview - I sure hope he gets 175-180 - That would be fun - But that also would be a rally special day evenf or him - There are 10 different things that can go wrong to limit your 24 hour mileage and soon you are at 90-80-70% of max mileage.

I wish that were low for me.  Then again, I am not paid to do that for a living.  Impressed by common folk on here that are able to run so many miles each week.

Not that hard to hit 90 mile weeks when you are training for a 50-100 miler. Last time my 90 mile weeks looked like this ->8,8,18,8,12,34,8. One longer run during the week at night and one long run on the weekend. Only three runs over 1:10.
