Backyard Ultra
I think Wrigley mentioned this race a while ago. One 4.166 mile loop, every hour on the hour until the last person drops.
Very intriguing concept.
I've raced with one of the guys from Florida and to steal a line form SRLOPEZ, It's right in his wheelhouse. He's won Matt Mahoney's Wickham Park 200 mile fun the last 3 years.
I recognize a few of the other names and I'm thinking this race will go on for a long time...
I didn't originate the line. Heh.
That is definitely an interesting concept for a race. Twent brought it up (or a very similar race (?) ) some time back. Pretty cool.
Love the concept. I immediately checked the web page. Alas too far away!
not something that would trip my trigger - Run, stop, run, stop etc
Long dead ... But my stench lingers !
More like run, drink beer, run, drink beer!
That's what I was thinking also, but putting the beer down and leaving a warm campfire at 2:00 AM to run another 4.1 miles. Tough call.
Good Bad & The Monkey
Run slower. 15 minutes per mile. No problem, right? How far would you go? Could you go?
I have several friends running this.
To be clear, this is a new race Laz is putting on. Same fellow who puts on Barkley. Among others.
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
If you want a good cry, read this.
Laz really understands making people suffer.

I wasn't going to be able to make it out for it when Laz announced it...but I'd have loved to have gone. Sounds like a fun concept for a race and I enjoy alternative formats like that.
Run to Win25 Marathons, 17 Ultras, 16 States (Full List)
This race jumps out at me since I went to highschool (<cite>www.thewebbschool.com/</cite>) in Bell Buckle, TN. This is about the last place I thought I would see an ultra. It's beautiful Tennessee country-side in a very small town. I think the population is like 300-400 but if you include the school, it nearly doubles.
the last place I thought I would see an ultra
There are actually a bunch of ultras down there, most of them Laz's. Strolling Jim and Vol State go right near there.
