Trail Monster
I don't see a thread. Is anyone else stalking runners? My coach passed mile 41 Stove Pipe Wells in 9:48. Her boyfriend passed there in 7:14. I'm super excited for them. It's her second time, his third.

Brands I Heart:
FitFluential
INKnBURN
Altra Zero Drop
Are we there, yet?
I'm following the race. My friend and fellow running club member, Keith aka the pink fairy, is back for at least his 4th BW.
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
I'm loosely following the leaders and rooting for Oz and Glen. Oswaldo has great heat tolerance, but I would love to see someone from the midwest or northeast kick ass
Uh oh... now what?

Tonight's low forecast around 90ºF, tomorrow's high 117ºF -- another mild Badwater?
rgot
In tenth place, Otto Elmqart from Bromma, Sweden -- just how does someone
from Sweden prepare for Badwater?
Top runners are through Darwin
Top five (all men) are from Portugal, USA, Australia, USA, USA.
Pam Reed is the lead woman at 12th overall.
About 75ºF as I post this, headed for a high of "only" 100ºF -- the lead dozen
or so will be climbing climbing climbing into the sun going to the portals.
Hit 117 today. My coach passed 72 but the site keeps crashing so I don't know what her split for 90 is or if she made it yet. Crossing my fingers! Her BF made it to 90 in 19 hours! :O
MTA: he has hit 131 in 27:44. Currently in 9th place!
Bummed to see Lorie Alexander dropped. I'm still tracking Heidi Perry, and Keith Straw. Both hanging in there, but well off their paces from last year.
And yeah, Pam finished 12th, wow. Ahead of Dean. Guy I paced at Western States this year (Terry Sentinella) passed Dean in the last stretch to just break top 10 last year.
Alexa passed 90 in 30:49. 45 more miles to go!
Heh, Dean is now 3X chicked. The two north-easterners didn't do so great, but I can understand how it is hard to train for this heat (well except for this week). Overall I'm surprised at the results, I expected Oswaldo to be the clear winner, especially having 4 pacers. Is that normal for an athlete competing to win a 100+ mile event? And too bad Zach G. wasn't racing it this year.
It gets confusing because of the multiple start times, but it looks to me like he's only 2X chicked. One who shows ahead of him had the 600 start, and was slower at the last aid station. Oh, and now looks like Pam was 13th, huh.

Keith was expecting a tough race this year. I don't think he's recovered from WS yet.
It was a rough year at WS, but he did well.
He's got an experienced crew with him. I know at least 3 of the 5 crew members have been at BW with him before.
Alexa finished in 45:27! So cool! Her boyfriend finished 8th in 28:46. I'm a little sad its all over now though I'm sure they aren't!
