New Trail race in NJ (Read 192 times)

    I am starting a new race on May 2nd 2009. It will be a trail race and in Morris County NJ. It is approximately 45 mins from NYC, 1 hour from Philly, 2.5 hours from Albany NY and Newark DE. With the three options of Quarter Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon there is something for everyone in the car pool. The finish is in a nice sunny ball field so bring the lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the BBQ. There is also a children's playground so it is fun for the whole family. Muddy Marathon Though this isn't a true ultra you can use it as training for any other ultra you have upcoming.

      Was at the South Mountain 100K this weekend and had a great day.  So many people are amazed that NJ has such beautiful trails and big hills. 

      There seems to be quite a few NJ trail runs on the schedule now and moving forward:

      January - Watchung Winter Ultra - 26.2M and 50K
      March - Allamuchy 50K
      May - Muddy Marathon
      May - South Mountain 100K
      July - Running with the Devil 3, 6, 12 hour race
      October - Mountain Madness 50K

      Trying to work through the logistics of putting on a 100M race.  May do it a FA style the first year and take a few cues from the DE 100 by using trails during the day and roads at night.
