1-3 MPH? I walk 4-5 MPH its not lolligag time ... plus I walk once per hour 2 minutes that is it until it needs to be more

Trail Monster
I can walk a sub-14 pace on an 8% grade for 30+ minutes on the treadmill. Outdoors I can take it to a sub-15 pace on similar hills. Practice makes perfect.

I have only run 2- 24 hr. races. I am a very slow marathon runner (arthritis) so I try to keep up a run 10 min. walk 5 min. strategy for my 24 hr.
This works pretty good for the first 14 hrs. or so, then I have to walk the rest.
I trained by running and walking 2-3 times per day, various distances.
