Hello
I've been lurking on the threads for a while and finally joined the Ultra Runner group. Last year I didn't run any marathons only ultras. (Superior 50k, Ice Age 50k, KM100k, Katy 50-DNF, and Fall50) I also was able to pace at WS100.
It's been helpful to glean advice from some of the posts and laugh at others.
My goal for this year is Miwok100 and WS100. I've run as far as 81 miles in a 24 hr but never finished a 100 (DNF @ KM100 in '08)
I currently reside in MN but am moving to CA sometime in April. Looking forward to the change.
Welcome!! Good luck with the move and at WS100! :-)
Welcome, Erockalot. Check back in often.
I crewed for a friend at WS. It was a blast!

Another newbie here, decided I should stop bugging Leslie all the time and come here.
AR 50 will be my first trail ultra. Sort of skipped doing a 50K first, that was probably dumb!
My next act will be to post more questions here!

Most people think ultra people are dumb.
Run until the trail runs out.
SCHEDULE 2016--
The pain that hurts the worse is the imagined pain. One of the most difficult arts of racing is learning to ignore the imagined pain and just live with the present pain (which is always bearable.) - Jeff

Ha! So I guess I'm going to end up bugging you after all!

and I bet we all know why that is ?
"As a dreamer of dreams and a travelin' man I have chalked up many a mile. Read dozens of books about heroes and crooks, And I've learned much from both of their styles." ~ Jimmy Buffett
"I don't see much sense in that," said Rabbit. "No," said Pooh humbly, "there isn't. But there was going to be when I began it. It's just that something happened to it along the way."”
I've decided to cross over to the darker side....according to my family, marathon running was already the dark side, this is the next level!

Welcome, Michelle! (can a newbie welcome another newbie? )
Hi everyone...same story for me...crossing over from the long stuff to the super long stuff. Just, uh, curious and looking for a new challenge. I'll probably lurk here mostly, looking to soak up knowledge from some of you who've been there.
Mishka sighting.
Welcome. What race is in your futures? Sweetwater 50k Saturday for me. Have not been past official 50k. Trails seem to be longer. 40 miler May 1.
I guess I'll crawl out from under the rug, too.
I've run a couple marathons and a little over a 50k in a 6 hour (all of this a few years ago). Since then my running has been pretty sporadic. Volunteering with jlynnbob at Rocky Racoon earlier this year, has rekindled my goal to try my hand feet at a 50 miler. Right now, I'm in get-my-fat-ass-back-in-shape mode and tentatively planning on the 50 miler in Palo Duro Canyon in October.
When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
