At the airport. Flight is in an hour. Check in and security took no time. This trip 3 nights. Versus last trip of 6.

        Good morning!

        Marjorie-safe travels!

Gatsby-Dances With Dirt has handicaps too.  Men over 50 get some handicap, Women get another, women over 40 additional, and women over 50 even more.  They joke about old and sexy winning.  The handicapped relay teams that win are typically over 70.  this is the 20 year anniversary for DWD Hell. Not quite as old as your Double Dipsea but likely had it in mind when Randy (RD) started it.

My very best wishes and congrats to all of you but especially to those who are racing.

Monday was a good run on the track. I practiced my breathing. Cardio dvd for 25 minutes after I got home.

Track run today so long as the weather is ok. If it gets really stormy I work out at home. Methinks it will still be the track.

          Happy runs, All!  :::HUGS:::

Morning.  I took an SRD yesterday after I got a big case and then was too busy to run.  I sure needed the rest sooner than the actual day.  8-10 miles tonight, maybe mile repeats if I can breathe.

Lisa, morning!  I am considering the DWD Florida as my first 50 miler.

Judy, nice track workout.  Enjoy tonight's.

                Happy Tuesday!

                4 muggy miles this morning

Damaris - sounds like you had a fun racing weekend as well!

Marjorie - have a good trip!

Lisa - DWD would be a blast, I love the handicap idea

Judy - hope the weather holds out for you!

Damaris - enjoy your evening run!

                Bikerchick1

Marjorie - Happy travels to you....do you get tired of traveling?

Lisa - DWD sounds like a great time.  Love the atmosphere of trail runs....trail runs bring out a different side of people I think.  Less competative...more supportive and fun - lots more beer drinking LOL.

Judy - Enjoy your track workout.

LCruns - From yesterday - RB is petite, looks like a kid, and that is exactly something she would say!  Probably was passing you about mile 16, as she finished just a little ahead of you two.  It is muggy here isn't it!

Damarias - sometimes rest days are very important!

Stability ball class was good yesterday, she does a great job of doing stretches along with class.  Tonight doing some hill work with RB.

                  Have a great day!

                    Good morning all!

I read my training schedule wrong (on day 2! this is going to be a long 12 weeks!) and I have 9 on the schedule for today. When I saw that last night, I knew getting up early enough to run that many miles wasn't going to happen. I was exhausted but having trouble falling asleep again, so I will run after work. Wednesday is a rest day, then Thursday and Friday are only 7 miles each, so maybe I'll try again later this week.

                    Safe travels Marjorie!

I'll be back later for more personals. Trying to prepare for a meeting at 11:30 today. If you ever think you want to work for a trade association, know that most of your work life will be spent preparing for meetings or in them. Or following up after them.

Damaris, have you done a DWD event? If not, you might want to try the 50K before committing to the 50 miler. I think that was the toughest race I have ever done, and I've done some doozies.

Laura, what I tried to say yesterday was that I think you can either plan to run with someone and figure you will run at her pace and be her guide, or you can plan to run your own race and say to your RB "meet you at the finish line". As long as all of you are in agreement before the race, that's fine. I have done races where my goal was just to finish and to stay with the person I was running with, and I have done races where I've said "see you later" and taken off or the person I came to the race with has done the same thing. The only caveat is that the person who is fastest should have the car keys because she will need to get her stuff out of the car afterwards. You are good to stay with Holly. Especially when the F-bombs started flying.

                      Marjorie, safe travels.

Karen, 9 miles before work? Not happeneing here.

Lisa, yes, that mantra has got a lot of us through nasty trails.

Susan, the trip sounds lovely. At first I thought you flew to Colorado and drove to Idaho Falls and was perplexed because they are a long way apart. Then I realized that Idaho Springs is just west of Denver. Have fun in the mountains!

Hi Judy, Ginny, Camille, Gatsby, Carol, and all others!

4 this morning with RN. Lovely crescent moon with Venus (I think) above and left of it just rising as we started our run. The things people miss by not getting up early!

Good morning!  It's a beautiful morning here. I ran/walked about 5.5 on the Chester Cr Trail.  It seemed harder than Sat and hip a little niggle, but I was still glad to be out. I chatted briefly with a  woman on the trail who had an Equinox shirt on and she's doing it this year. It made me think about it, but I won't  be ready for a tough race that soon.

Lisa and Tessa, each time I see that DWD I read it first as "devils with dirt" or "dirt with the devils."  Can't seem to get the dancing bit. Maybe by race time. Old and sexy winning has a good ring to it.

Gatsby, I think I read a story after the 10 year old won and maybe again with the older person. It sounds like a neat race.

Karen, I laughed about the training plan mix up.  You'll get the hang of it soon.

Demaris, I'm glad you're feeling better.  I'll change the run/walk as I go, but I warm up and cool down walking and try to limit the walk to a 30-60 sec every .5 to 1 mi.  I'm really going by feel a lot.

Judy, I tried to concentrate on my breathing some today.

Carol, Humpy's is not actually the name of the race anymore.  : )  They decided to try to grow it a few years ago and it's now "Big Wildlife Runs."  Humpy's is the bar who sponsored it for many years.  It sounds like you are loving your classes.

                        Susan, your adventure sounds wonderful!

Hi, Crazy Sue, Cindy, Laura and others to follow.

                        ginnyb

Weather forecast for Sunday is 88 and humid.  Race starts at 6:45 though, so hopefully it might not be too bad.  Ever since my experience in cleveland last year  this forecast makes me apprehensive.  I never want to go through that again.  I can't slow down much more, so if it is too bad guess I will be walking a lot!

Tessa....don't think I let the F-bomb go when we did Detroit, LOL!   I really appreciated your sticking with me.

Lisa....wish all races gave handicaps to people over 50!

No run for me this morning.  I will be out there tomorrow for a short one.

Supposed to go to GD softball game tonight, but looks like storms again.  Last night their makeup game was stormed out too.  They may never get these games played.

Carol - she was wearing a grey t shirt and black capris, you'll have to ask her if she said that!  Too funny Smile

Tessa - I agree.  I did promise to stay with her the entire race, so I knew from the get go what I was in for, LOL   No big deal, I know that the marathon is a big unknown and it could have easily been me needing to stop/slow down.   For future races, I'll probably just agree to run as long/far together as possible, then if one wants to go ahead or stay back, agree to that ahead of time

                            Hi Karen, Camille and Ginny!!!

                            Tessa

Ginny, I enjoyed it. That was a nice long conversation and a good chance to get to know you. And people have run with me and run me in a number of times, I was glad to be able to pay it forward.

And no I don't remember any really foul language on your part. I do remember chasing a number of seagulls for the amusement of the volunteers on Belle Isle, and a few dirty jokes on my part, but nothing too bad.

Camille, so it's not called Humpy's any more? Which Alaska full would be the least likely to have runners meet bears? I am absolutely terrified of bears, if it's not a phobia it's darned close. I can deal with most other wildlife but not a bear.

7.13 on the TM at lunch.
