      Good Morning!

3 miles this morning, a quick 1.5 last night after a very long day at work.  Today is my 'official' last day of work until after the New Year, but I will likely be going in for a few hours at least a couple of times over break.  Too much to do, not enough time.

Judy - enjoy your time off!

Damaris - good call on the rest.  I have been making sure to get enough sleep to try and stay healthy this season.

Marjorie  - enjoy your slow week at work!

Karen - house is beautiful!!   Sorry DH is sick, but nice going on the present!

Crazy Sue - great job on the 10K!

Lisa - awesome job on the 50K, I can't even imagine!

Tessa - enjoy the time with DD!

Camille - so sorry about your sister, I will keep her in my prayers!

Carol - glad you had a fun 5 miles!  I would be happy if the rest of the winter stays as snowless as it is now!

      Hi Gatsby!!

Comment. I shouldn't judge but I would never have kids come down to breakfast buffet at Embassy Suites in pjs, slippers and robes. Let alone do it myself. This does constitute as "in public" people! Half day in office then driving back to Detroit.

        Have a good Tuesday!

        Lisa

        Mighty Mouse

Camille2, prayers being sent on behalf of your sister. :::HUGS:::

MyMomRuns, last year I saw a HUGE guy wearing nothing but a hospital gown (yes, flying open in the back) and fuzzy slippers jump out of a running car and dash into a large grocery store. Hmmm. The store had a pharmacy. Must have been getting his RX filled?

Monday I threw caution to the winds and ran 30 minutes on the track with new shoes and a new buddy. It was great to have to keep up with someone taller than I am. Ummm…everyone is taller than I am.

Permanent crown is now in place.

Today I plan to find places to store stuff and then do some cardio workouts. Heel must be rolled as well.

          Happy runs, All! :::HUGS:::

          Where is the "any" key?

Good morning! I have been weirdly productive this morning, so I thought it was time for a break.

Camille, prayers being sent for your sister. And for you.

Tessa, I may have laughed out loud at your comment yesterday about the pool in the front yard of my new house.

Lots of comments on fb about the 3-car garage. 1. We have 3 cars. 2. We have no basement, and need some place for all the bikes and stuff. 3. No, all houses in TX don't come with 3-car garages, we specifically asked for that, paid extra, and paid for a bigger lot that would accomodate both that and a swimming pool (in the back yard).

Marjorie, good ideas yesterday on gifts for DH. I'm going to do some investigating into the Houston area bicycling scene.

Laura, woohoo on the time off! I just decided this morning that I was taking off next Monday as well. Tomorrow we will probably only work a half day and I already told my boss I'd be here so we could review my budgets in the morning. Getting out of bed this morning I decided 4.5 days off wasn't quite enough, so I will take 5.5!

Lisa, imagine DDs are enjoying Chicago. I usually give kids a pass on the hotel breakfast in jammies thing, but every so often you'll see an adult - that is just lazy and wrong.

Judy, sounds like you're having a productive day. Amazing how much we can get done when that pesky work thing isn't in the way!

Probably some time on the bike for me tonight. Foot could use a break from running. Last night I ran 3 easy on the TM. I had to slow way down in the middle (and I wasn't running fast to begin with), as I got a side stitch. Hate it when that happens.

Camille, I am sorry. Will keep your sister in my prayers. Candles tomorrow at church.

Lisa, wow, that's a lot of people in your house when you walk in after a 50K! Think I'd excuse myself to take a shower (though given the way I sweat the shower would probably be first priority by popular demand).

Hmm. I am OK with kids in jammies and slippers at hotel breakfasts, if it was me I would rather they wipe sticky syrupy fingers on their jammies that they're about to take off rather than on the jeans that are about to be in contact with the car upholstery. Not so much adults.

Karen, I would love a 3 car garage. What's wrong with that? Garage space is always at a premium anyway, that's where you store all the things like stepladder and sawhorses and rolling cooler and bicycles as well as -- gasp -- cars. And if you have 3 cars, a 3 car garage is a great idea. I would think that would pay for itself in resale value. Stupid side stitch interfering with the TM.

Laura, good for you fitting the runs in. Hope you do get some actual time off.

Judy, no matter what the need is someone should not appear in public wearing a hospital gown. That is just wrong -- if he is leaving the hospital he should at least have sweatpants and a windbreaker. Not judging the guy but judging whoever released him like that to drive himself home. And it's a sad commentary when the person doesn't have a friend or family member to drive him home and fill his prescription on the way.

Marjorie, I was summoned to a meeting on the 15th and took great pleasure in replying "nope, can't do it, I'm on a plane!" Exciting that Charleston is coming up so quickly.

I am at work today but not tomorrow, we close at noon and I see no need to commute 4 hours (2 each way) to work 4 hours. I can do that just fine from my kitchen table. 3.2 this morning, I woke up at 3:55 and still got out just after 4 AM. RN is off so she did not run with me. Tailbone still feels a bit off, not hurting but a bit tight and just "there" so I was slow.

Run to live; live to run

                10.3 for me

Lisa I see it in hotels a lot with people coming for breakfast in their pjs

Laura hope the kinda last day is good

Karen there are a few houses in our neighborhood with three car garages. We can't have basements here so it makes sense. Since Dh and I don't have kids we are lucky to be able to use our two bedroom closets upstairs to keep stuff.

Tessa I know!  You and Karen will be here very soon

Thanks for the kind wishes and prayers for my sister.  She is off the ventilator  and is having an arrhythmia specialist consult today. It sounds like she's going to end up with a pacer or defibrillator.  My bro-in-law is not a person medical and the news isn't always clear.  She is better though.

Have a great Christmas, everyone.  I may or may not get back on. I am hoping to get in a couple miles this afternoon. I need it considering my current treats.  We made eggnog...sweetened condensed milk, whipping cream...yum!

I guess it just surprised me since this is a very large Embassy Suites in the middle of The Loop-Chicago. Just seems a tad fancy for that but I'm sounding like a business class traveler I guess.

Karen- going from basement to no basement is huge. I get the garage need. Not like you're going to erect a pole barn otherwise. Have you bought your rifle for the back window yet?

                    Tessa

A gun for the back window of the house or the back window of the pickup?

Lisa, yes I think a business hotel it's a bit casual to have kids in pajamas but some people do that. And the younger the children are the more expectable it is, I think. I was sad when the kids got old enough that they needed to be dressed for the day -- it was so easy to scoop up a baby in a footie sleeper, change the diaper and feed the baby, and strap him or her into the carseat still in the same sleeper for the drive to the daycare provider's house. Dressing a child meant having to allow more time in the mornings for getting ready to go.

And it definitely depends on the hotel. Embassy Suites seems a lot more business oriented rather than family oriented to me, as opposed to the Hampton Inn/Holiday Inn Express/La Quinta/Best Western type hotels.

Camille, hope your sister continues to improve.

Sweetened condensed milk, whipping cream, and presumably spices? And perhaps a slug of brandy? Yum.

7.01 on the TM at lunch. Feeling better for it.
