WINE o'clock somewhere!

Lizzie, good luck this week with the mileage!  You really have been killing your runs.  Glad the party was a success.  In Portland there wasn't a need for the pineapple, there are clubs right out in the open.  Ron Jeremy (porn star) had one down town even.

Judy, glad the floods are gone and your time outside is enjoyable.

Damaris, have a good workout later.

Sandy, suntan?  Awesome.  Sounds like quite a pleasant weekend.

Laura, enjoy your warmer run this afternoon.  Sorry work is still a problem.

Sue, right there with you on six is enough after not doing anything for a bit, that was today for me.

Diane, so pleased for you!  Great job getting it done, including the extra mileage.  Woot woot.

Cathy, I giggled at your poor DD's arm story.  Glad it wasn't broken.

    Elina, enjoy the rest day.

Karen, you are a bad ass. Totally impressed with Boston.  Loved the pics, the second one you posted on here a few days ago was fab.

I actually RAN!  Well, my usual run/walk - which I kept up the entire time.  No extra walking, even at the end.  It felt really good.  Best run I have had in a very long time.  Six miles even.  It was a wee bit warm though, ending up at about 70 with bright sunshine.   In two weeks I have a trail half - Pandoras Box of Rox.  Ran it last year and it is hard - rocky.  Go figure.  Took me forever.  Then in FIVE WEEKS, Pinelands.  Lisa has given me words of wisdom.  DON'T DO THE 50K.  Drop to the 25K.  She is a smart woman, now let's see if I am smart student...

Now I have nothing planned for the remainder of the day other than possibly getting a couple of plants.  I found some great pots at Ross.  Nice rather big one was only $22.  The smaller ones were only $4.  Of course I only have $100 left in my bank account until Friday as I paid the IRS out of this check.  Possibly I should leave the money for, oh, FOOD??

Enjoying my plants, especially the cherry tomatoes, on my back porch.  I keep sneaking the ripe ones daily.  I only get 1-3 at a time.  Lots and lots more to come, even a few regular ones.  Funny, I won't just eat tomatoes fresh from the store, but ones off the vine, yum.

OK ladies, have a lovely day.

Karen, nope you are much more badass than me...I at least didn't have 30 mph winds.  You are my badass coach.  Any words on how to avoid back issues (psoas related that the massage therapist is treating).  I had spent a week feeling great with no back issues and thought I'd be home free but damn if they didn't show back up.

Kat there was a time or two or even half a dozen I thought no way I can do a 50 miler but I will and so will you.  I did a little run/walking too at least until I hit the clay on a down stretch and it was all sorts of slip and slidey.

I second Karen – I am laughing out loud at the northerners all happy about their weather  SmileYAY!!!

Judy – OMG I did NOT know that about the well dressed woman! Okay, so that would qualify a lot of women hahaha. Don’t we all have wine in the top of the grocery basket?! What a great weekend of exercising for you  Smile I saw a very mean raccoon out there today and thought of you. Not because it was mean, but because it was wild life Wink

        Docket – WOOHOO race week!

Sandy – Excuse me, where have you been!?! YAY for some great weather!!! Oh I am so happy that you got to enjoy it  Smile A tan!? I am jealous!  Nice miles this weekend, too. I think I will be in shorts tomorrow, too. I looked at the temps for next week and it is going to be in the 80’s. I am like ugh, its here. I also went and looked at Fargo’s weather on Accuweather. I am sure it isn’t accurate that far in advance..but I was just curious! It said something like 75/55. I guess we will see! I wish we had run out of food over the weekend. HCBF has lunch for days! When are you planning your 20? Saturday? I am getting more and more excited about Fargo and seeing you and Karen! And also maybe the fact that I planned a vacation the week following that trip hehe.  No wine in the grocery stores where you are?! That’s interesting! I thought VA was the strict!

Laura –My routes..I basically do the same one all the time. My neighborhood is kind of split into two – an older section and a newer section. The newer section is about 4 miles one way. So, if I do any run more than 8 miles, I will hit the older section as well (one loop is 4 miles). On my 16+ mile days I will actually do my neighborhood (newer part) enough times to get 10..then I will head over to the older section and do one or two loops. I think it helps break it up mentally. Sometimes its all mentally hard because I have done it so much. They are building a new neighborhood behind us…so once that is done I can incorporate that one into my mix  Smile I need to venture out and try different neighborhoods but I hesitate doing that so early in the morning! That was the long answer to your question. Have a good run this afternoon! Enjoy the gorgeous weather!

Susan – Nice job on the 6! Are you feeling better now?

Diane – Congratulations on a great race! Boy Howdy! LOL. Love that. Sounds challenging! Holy crap on the hills! But I guess you get that with those pesky trail races Smile I can’t believe someone messed with the sign. How rude!! So how many miles total did you do? Did you end up driving home that night or did you stay in a hotel? EDIT - back issues - I am still going with more core work.

Cathy – Woohoo for awesome weather and WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO for those miles!!! I was going to ask if there were any race ideas circling your brain Wink Oh yes, this week is a 60+ week..so every freakin run is LONG. I will be over it by this weekend – which is fine since it will be taper time Smile You know you can freeze those bananas? As long as they are still in the peel you can. I always do that and then pull them out when I am ready to make banana bread. Oh your DD – to be young again haha. Yes, I guess you can’t have any wine or pineapple in your cart!

Kilmisters – Oh yes, a rest day is needed for you today! Nice miles yesterday.

Tessa – I am laughing out loud. You are too funny. The refried beans might be enough to detour some masculine attention haha. Laughing about the ladder, too. Nice morning miles, are you doing a lunchtime run? You have been sick lately – cut yourself some slack!  Smile

Karen - Nice miles! Is the ankle feeling back to normal? Your chores list sounds indeed like chores. Ugh. Wink We are looking to paint! We would hire though…no way I would do it haha. You are having great weather!! I am going to channel you tomorrow when I am running in high winds and pouring rain.

Kathryn – We have missed you!!! Nice run today!!! Woohoo! Wow, Pinelands is really creeping up. Smart idea to drop to the 25K. I think you will enjoy it more with less pressure. How has work been?

Have a good evening everyone! I have to dig deep for some ab workout motivation.

3.5 after work...67 degrees whoo hoo!

Sue - nice 6, glad you are feeling better.  You'll be back to it in no time!

Diane - great race report!!  You did awesome!

Cathy - great 4!  It is so nice to see people outside!

Elina - 11 miles deserves a rest day!

Tessa - my shopping cart sounds a lot like yours!!

Damaris - I am good with the F bomb, too, lol!

Karen - nice 4!  I am hoping to start morning running during the week soon

Kat - great job on the 6!  Hope you had a good day!

Lizzie - I kind of assumed you ran the same-ish route because it is hard to find places to run when it's still dark.  I do the same, my route is about 5 miles if I basically go around town, but I can add distance with extra loops or back tracking.  Long runs I can do more out of town since I wouldn't go until it was lighter outside.  Have a good ab workout!

LOL if I'd used it as much as there were hills there'd just be an explosion and no race report.

Did an easy 4 today since it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Registered for the race this morning, weather looks ok, maybe a little warmer than ideal, but I have to remind myself last year it was 85 and humid this weekend. Plus there are a number of shady spots on the course, although I think the middle miles are in the sun.

No wine in my grocery cart. Saturday I can go buy some at the gas stations or the grocery store. Maryland's liquor laws vary by county.

DHuffman, nice RR! Way to tough it out, that sounds miserable. And what type of ass messes with the directional signs?

most of my RRs are like that....

It was raining, so I ran outside!  Then it stopped raining and I regret it but it only got as high as 81F.

So close... I had thought today would be the day but not quite yet. We did the proofs in court and now the attorneys put it all in the Judgement and then we sign it and then it's entered into court. So nothing will change but not quite final. I don't have to go to court anymore though. So there's that and it's really just the formalities part.

Lizzie-hope you got the abs done. Awesome miles!

Judy-you have a full and lovely life!

Sue-I missed it .. why nothing for 2 weeks?

Diane-loved the RR! Nice of you to donate the Gu. "Boy Howdy!" LOL  Nice work on that course! I'd say that the back showed improvement so you're making progress since it didn't incapacitate you. (my bar for success is sometimes not that high. LOL)

                      Cathy-yummmm banana bread!

                      Elina-sleep...girl.. sleep

Tessa-my shopping cart doesn't attract much attention either. LOL Looking forward to getting that trail running in with you in May!

Karen-hot times in Tomball, eh? Better get that paint so that a weekend of watching it dry can be had. LOL

Kathryn-Bwahaha at your "I actually RAN" post.  Although now you're totally ruining my reputation for talking people into these races. However, that second loop in humid Maine if not ready for mileage won't do you any favors. Whereas a successful 25k will help for a longer race in ... hmmm... perhaps September.

Met up with Katie at the gym for 65 minutes on elliptical tonight. Was fun to catch up.

This weekend run buddies from E. Lansing joined us for a fun weekend in Kentucky. The wife had asked if I would run the 50k with her there. She's a back of the packer and typically runs by herself. I already have Kentucky and there would be bourbon involved over the weekend so I was in! The Great Turtle is the name of the race. It's on the Sheltowee Trace National Trail... thus the turtle name, I guess. the markings for the trail are a turtle. Was a 16 mile out/back with somewhere in the neighborhood of 3800-3900ft elevation gain. Not crazy but the first couple miles included a 400 ft hill that was all switchbacks. A photographer dropped one of his lens shade things and we were able to get it since it rolled straight down to us but then he had to wait for us to make it to him. LOL Jen was shooting for 10 hours. It was mid 60's so warm for us. She enjoyed the several shallow stream crossings even though i warned her that she might regret wet feet later if she could've avoided them. After the turnaround the blisters started. She was on target for the 10 but ended up with 11:28 because of having to stop and pop the blisters. Hobbling along the rest of the way. But she did it. NOT a good finish line spread. Probably the worst I've seen actually. they had bread and buns out to make sandwiches. No thank you to the cheese, turkey and lettuce that had been sitting out all day. I'll pass on the food poisoning.  I couldn't have thought of a more enjoyable way to spend the day otherwise.. Mid-60's, single track trail, water crossings, a swinging bridge, sun (I got burnt), wild flowers, aid stations and a little bottle of Buffalo Trace for mile 18 and onward. Friend did the 10 mile in 3 hours. They basically ran up the big hill then up down a few more and then back. LOL There was a 12 hour cutoff for the 50k and a 15 hour for the 50 mile. Sunday my, um friend, and I went to the Town Branch distillery and brewery in Lexington. Fun!

Looking forward to my next 50k .. this sunday. LOL Will be on fumes since I'll be driving back from Indianapolis Saturday night.
